Bo-

I was looking at the entry form and see that there is a $25 per person "membership" fee. Can you tell me more about that and what being a member means - specifically a member of what and what that entitles you to? Also, how is the GLWC organized - as a nonprofit or otherwise?

Thanks

The annual $25 membership fee entitles you to your own webpage on this site from the time you register and complete the biography page to the start of the 2006 season. This is something that you can use to link to your sponsors to make them happy, or, if you are not a sponsored angler, it can be a bragging board of you accepting the check when you win on Saginaw Bay this month or this fall at Cranberry Creek. The webpage is valuable for sports writers and media folks to know more about who is fishing in the tournament.... you might pick up a couple interviews in your hometown newspaper or radio/tv outlets. By developing your tear sheets portfolio, you might have an easier time when you try to convince new sponsors to come on board with you. You also get a lanyard and ID tag with boat and tournament information and an easy-to-spot logo for photographers and writers to know that you are part of the GLWC. Also included will be two boat/vehicle decals for you.

Hi Breeeze, we are definately NOT a non-profit organization. My partner and I invested our money to start a new tour so that you fisherman can earn a little extra money to off-set some of the huge costs that come along with tournament fishing. We, in turn, are, also, trying to earn a little money. Breeeze, believe me, this has not been an easy thing to do. If it hasn't been for all the friends and contacts that I have accrued in 31 years in the boating and fishing industry, this new tour would still be a dream. The anglers in Michigan & Ohio deserve a team event that will earn them better returns for their efforts. I, believe, you agree, too. In fact, I wish someone would have put something like this together when I was still fishing competitively. Believe me, I know what it costs to be a competitive angler. Come and join us and see for yourself, "Bo"

Thanks for the feedback - please don't take my question as criticism - I just wanted to learn more. Thanks.
