What's the story with this event? I won a spot from that W/C contest on the banner. It's one day and separate from the MWC Championship? What's pay-out, etc.??? Couldn't find anything on the MWC website. I could be blind though! :)

It is a one day event. Basically any species can be brought in, and the largest fish of each species wins. Typically the prize is a Cabelas gift certificate. It's fun!

Terroreyes, Ijust got my invitation also. I'm going to make a few calls and send some notes out to see if I can find out more about it. I'll post any info I get.

I would do it in a heartbeat except it's a 15+ hour drive. I can fly round trip for less than I'd pay for gas.

some info I just received from Jeff Ahlstrand, Events and Sponsorship Assistant

Thank you for your interest in our Pro-Am tournament. The species that
you can win prizes for are:

1. Catfish
2. LM Bass
3. SM Bass
4. White or Striper Bass
5. Walleye/Sauger
6. Crappie
7. Carp
8. Sheepshead
9. Northern
10. Other

A $50 gift certificate to Cabela's will be awarded to the amateur who
has the largest fish in each category.

The pros are made up of 2-man teams who qualified for the World Walleye
Championship through the Masters Walleye Circuit in 2004.

There is no monetary payout for the Pro-Am, just the gift certificates I
mentioned above. For the WWC, the pros have a chance at winning $25,000
with an overall payout of $101,400.

Pete aka eyedoktr you said you would go if not for the 15 hr drive. Can't help the time factor but I will be going out to fish and film. If you want to ride out together, let me know. I will be staying till Sunday then returning back to Bradford to fish the following weekend with Jason at his tournament. Your right the ride will suck but what the ####. Mike, I really appreciate the offer but I'm going to say no thanks. I think I'll use my vacation time to go to the WC Get Together a couple of days early and see if I can help out.

Don't believe what Gilligan says. It wouldn't take anywhere near 15 hours with me to put anyone over the edge. He's just a little desensitized after all these years.

again, thanks and have a great trip
