If you really want an opportunity full choke, look at the Wal-Mart RCL Circuit program. There are still openings there for co-anglers and alot of the Big Name pro's are fishing it like Mark Martin, Rick LaCourse, John Campbell, Mike McClelland, Rick Olsen and a host of others.
Plus the pay back is all cash .. I'm in all four events and can't wait for the Detroit River in April.

If most of these guys are only good enough to carry your rods to the boat-along with your lunch, then maybe you should think about going pro. A man of your caliber!!!! I would think, most would like to have the opportunity to learn something from you!
Excited about being a co-angler in the PWT and enjoying a great experence!!
Keep your lines tight

Hey Fuzzygrup
thanks for the info I am going to check this out. I have heard alot alot about the RCL recently and will check out the site. Thanks for the info. Tell me more about about what I can expect from fishing with PRO's on the PWT and the RCL from your point of view.
I am all cranked up about hanging out, fishing with three different pro's for three days in the PWT and being apart of making it all happen------maybe I will land that 30"er I have always wanted to hook and fight to the landing net and contribute to not only my best fish landed but help a PRO jump up in the standing. A true team approach.
Fuzzygrup
thanks

FULL CHOKE I'm with you! First I wouldn't have time to prefish. But if I would, what would 3 days prefishing cost? My guess
$90 gas & oil
$15 lost cranks
$20 bait
$15 lost spinners,jigs,etc
$135 rooms
$60 food & snacks(thats if I don't stop at the bar)
$50 tackle I have to have, but I'll never use again!
=$385
plus $420 lost pay..thats just prefishing for the tourney. Plus I can win a new boat! And if I do poor I'm not responsible. I love it!!

Nice positive comment there Franky.
I will stretch alittle and respond like you really
had thought about it.
There are good fishermen and great fishermen on the PWT.
They are in different stages of their careers and all
are continueing to learn. Are all of them Gary Roach? no.
How is this different from any other sport?
I think you are just trying to be a jerk.

Fishing with the pros, and they are all that, is great, and you're right, openings exist. Contact (or down load) a PWT entry blank and fish 3 days with 3 different pros in a boat-weight tournament. See the chat on WC from Wed. night. www.in-fisherman.com is the web site, then go to the tournament link.

This message is for Full Choke and Me Too. Post your e-mails so we can write you for info on the tournaments. I have some questions to ask.
To Full Choke and Me Too and any others interested and curious about fishing as an amatuer on PWT. Go Do It!! I have done 3 tournaments over the last 2 seasons and it was a hoot! If you get a chance try to prefish for a couple of days as well. I went early to the tournaments and spent an additional 3 or 4 prefishing with the pro's. I personally think one can learn more during the prefish period than the tournament. By tournament time the pro's pretty much have their game plan lined out and that is what will be done at least initially. Don't get me wrong, still a great time and great education during the tournament days if this is all you have avialable.

full choke,
you have made a great choice fishing the PWT as an amateur. the locations are great. fishing the francis case area in beginning of May will be terrific. the leech lake date is perfect (many huge weights will be weighed). devils lake was a great stop for the rcl last year and the PWT will have a great time there also this JULY. all of these times are perfect for the PWT west.
with your positive attitude, you are going to have a great time fishing the PWT!
The PRO-AM tournaments are also a very good way to fish new water. It not only gives you a chance to fish with some great fisherman but a practical way to fish lakes you are not familiar with. Some of the Pros don't mind if you mark spots on your handheld GPS so you can go back after the tournament. I was looking at Erie charters at a local boat show in 96 when I stumbled onto the NAWA booth. I always wanted to fish Erie but didn't know where to go or how to fish it. I got lucky and ended up wining a new boat. Who would have thought..
I have been thinking of the RCL because I like the thought of the cash prizes and you can at least get your money back down to 50th place. I ended up fishing all four tournaments that year and writing off all my expenses against the earnings I had to claim on the boat. You have to get lucky in the draw and I did end up fishing with a few guys that were on the lower end of the learning curve but it was a great experience.

Full Choke:
With your enthusiasm I think any PWT or RCL pro would look forward to having you in the boat. On cruddy weather days or when the fish just don't want to cooperate it's easy to give up a little bit. The anglers who hang in there to the end have the most success. You'll enjoy your experience and I'm sure your pro will too.
Good Luck!!

FrankLy, I think that is precisely what you should do, fish with all your buddies, both of them! Sounds like a win-win situation to me.:)
