A good schedule, well thought out in my opinion. Spreading the tournaments out over a longer period makes sense for all of us. All the sites have the potential to provide excellent fishing opportunities for those who wish to test their skills at competitive walleye angling. The FLW has once again stepped up to the plate and listened to the needs of their anglers. Good job to Mark and Sonny with the 2006 FLW Walleye schedule.

Juls,
Do you know if the plan is to permit fishing Ohio waters of Erie for the Detroit River Tournament assuming lake conditions allow it?

I would have to confirm, but it is my understanding that the competitors will be limited to the river only.

I was wondering the same thing I will probably enter as a Co Angler for this tourney, I was hoping the lake would be available but that's okay I have never fished the river. I could see how that would mean a world of differenc for guys like Steve.

Actually I may do the same - go in as a CO if it is river only - would be a great way to learn the river for the future, maybe I'll get lucky and draw Juls or Rick for some handlining lessons... Looks like a good schedule overall.

this is a sweet schedule by the FLW! Congratulations again to Sonny, MArk Dorn and the competent management staff at the FLW! You guys rock. This circuit clearly cares about the anglers. They actually pick excellent walleye locaions! imagine that.

Were'nt Devil's and Green Bay on the schedule last year, and the year before?

2001:
Lake Erie/Saginaw Bay/Miss. River-LaCrosse/Devils Lake
2002:
Detroit River/Lake Sharpe/Winnebago/Saginaw Bay
2003:
Illinois River/Lake Sharpe/Lake Erie/Devils Lake
2004:
Illinois River/Lake Erie/Devils Lake/Lake Oahe
2005:
Bull Shoals/Lake Erie/Green Bay/Devils Lake
We've been to Devils Lake several times, and as far as I'm concerned we can go there EVERY year! I love that place!
We have only been to Green Bay for a regular season tournament once, and that was this year. They had two past championships there however, in 2000 and 2001.

Juls we love having you guys at DLake as well, always happy to show off our resources in the state and see people happy about fishing.
Also great job on keeping everyone up to speed on the rules about teh locks etc..before the tournament always nice to get the facts not the rumors.

How does someone get signed up as a co-angler? I am interested in the Red Wing one as a co-angler.

Wallymart needs to build some new stores so you guys won't have to keep going back to the same places all the time.
There are plenty of other good fishing waters out there.

What do you think about the Championship at Lake Oahe in September? Good move or not?

I think it may surprise some people. You may see some really good weights.
Oahe, no matter what is great water. I would rank it as the best fishery in the country in terms of quality fish and numbers year round. Only problem is...it's not exactly a huge population base, so bringing people in to the weigh-in might be a challenge. But none the less, great fishing water, might be a bit tough that time of year but there will still be some great fish/weights brought in. One thing about it, you can never go wrong having a tourney there. Championship? Might not be huge numbers at the weigh-in but great fishing none the less....

Here's the information from this year. The entry dates/deadlines will change for 2006, but all the other information should still be applicable.
Their phone number is 270-252-1000 if you have any questions. Just call them, they are more than willing to answer any questions that you might have.
Juls
P.S. Rick is a lock-in due to his 14th place finish in the standings, and won't need a Co-Angler counterpart to sign up with, but I will...so, if you or anyone else needs a Pro counterpart to sign up with to get priority entry, email me at juls231@msn.com. ;)
Thanks!
