The Saturday Night shootout that was scheduled to start this weekend is cancelled.
Parties involved in running it, intend to support the Huron Boosters tourney and that will make a looong day and may cause limit (legal) issues. We intend to start running them again on Saturday Oct, 8th.
They will occur weekly, weather permitting, until the rivers and piers freeze up. Sign ups can be done at Sportsmans Outpost 888-855-9032, in Vermilion and at Cranberry Creek Marina 419-433-3932, just west of Huron on rt. 6.
Both pier and boat fishermen with teams up to four people are welcome to enter. Fishing is permitted anywhere along the south shore and Ohio islands of Lake Erie. Southerly winds may cause the islands to be off limits in some circumstances, with a 1 mile off shore limit for boat fishing. Strong winds from any other direction will probably cancel the events.
$20 entry per team, winner take all, big fish decides all ties. 5 fish limit and hours are 4 PM to midnite when you must be inside Cranberry Creek Marina, whether by boat or vehicle.
We don't have this on the WBSA website yet but will in the next few days.
