I probably should be like the 99% throwing rocks from the slough anonymously but here goes. (by the way, slough duck isn't a kind term around here, better than city uh.... pond duck though)

1. PWT makes the rules. Live with it or don't, sounds like some will pick the "don't". I KNOW that the anglers have had a LOT of give and take with the PWT leaders according to the touring guys in the last year. Hopefully the PWT will continue to improve, but it is their sandbox. There is always a danger that it will cease. However, I don't know of a better game in town, but there always can be one that starts.

2. Chase Parsons - Carl Edwards made the NASCAR chase last I looked, he hasn't exactly "been around". Maybe they should have let Rudd or the Labonte's in for old times sake. Maybe they should have let Yarborough in , he didn't race this year but is better than half of them still running. I know some of you grumble because you think it's a family legacy deal. When it comes to Kyle Petty, I buy it. Chase did pretty darn good whoever or whyever.

3. FLW - Great tourneys, happy for them. It still ain't (my illiteration purposefully) the PWT. Seems a lot of PWT threads are always hijacked by FLW folks though. Start an FLW post, and see how many read it. It's still not the same status.

4. Super Elite - I love it. Wouldn't want to write the check. But I'm happy for whoever fishes it. To me it's like having the 40 in NASCAR, right now they are racing with 140, lots of car crashes out on the same fishing spots... Maybe the Super Elite will work, maybe it won't, be fun to see I guess.

5. I like tourneys, from a viewer standpoint, cuz I learn something. That's what the PUBLIC wants - better fishing info. I don't see any of you walking around with Parsons, Seelhoff, Glorvigen whatever hats - Yet. (We'll see what the Super Pro does for this....)

6. You're kidding me? There are rich guys fishing the PWT. There are rich guys (with and without the right equipment) fishing the FLW? Oh my lord... I thought it was only grizzled poor guys that picked walleyes over family and traditional career - ok, there are more than a few of those too.

7. Amateurs sign up for the most cash, prizes, boats blah blah. Sure, uh huh They are nuts then. Most sign up for the LAKE and the TIME OF YEAR the tourney is. Or cuz they happen to know a guy fishing the tourney and want to hang out. Some, not a pile, I'll grant you - want to fish to see if they have what it takes to "make the jump". Most still don't know AFTER the tourney:)

8. If payouts for the angler resources put in for about ALL tournaments don't improve from spot 5-100 the walleye world of tourneys will face a crisis of non-participation

9. The Huskers still suck

10. Maybe we need a Legends tourney! And YES, I'm serious!!!! How about a Legend with a young Pro day, Legend only day, etc. That would be too cool.

11. Can't say it with my name attached. But it has to do with the fact that people who rule the world show up, pay attention, and are counted when it comes time to make a decision.

The FLW ain't the PWT.

The FLW is now the premier tournament circuit and the PWT is trying to keep its doors open for business.

PWT believers are logged in when they make a stand too.

Interesting points ToddNE - But the Huskers aren't bad, they're just regrouping.

todd, that is a funny post.

you need to get involved a little more intimately to find out the FLW has passed the PWT with flying colors. the PWT is done. this will be the last year they can continue to manage the circuit with incompetence and survive. Their doors will shut soon.

Slough duck kisser,

I don't personally care if the PWT closes or not. Guess I'll get my Walleye Insider money back and I won't learn as much about fishing anymore.

In STATUS (like I said before), it's still supreme in my opinion. You are welcome to yours, like I care or you care about the other one's opinion. It's funny that any minor thing about the FLW creates a scorched earth response policy around here though.

Good thing is that a little tour competition will hopefully put more $$$ in the ANGLER'S pockets.

I would like to see the reaction if the PWT had the co-angler sign up deal.... (this is where the scorched earth policy comes in and you tell me I don't understand that a Pro shouldn't just be able to be evaluated for angling merit to join the tour (oops, do both tours historically do this?) and pay and get to show up.)

Let's face facts, the sport has to get money from somewhere on the big tournament level.

I remain most bothered by the Huskers.
Tournaments have always been driven by sponsorship.
If it ain't about the money, it's about the money.
The best anglers don't always win.
The best anglers don't always enter.
Walleye tourneys will be soooo much better in 10 years
There is no best boat.
Somebody doesn't like to lose.
Stickers don't make you or me a better fisherman.
I still want to go to Tobin someday.
Why aren't the ducks here yet?
Why did my dog go and get old this year?

Been to Tobin, fished the Vanity Cup. Had a great time, but the tournament is a crap shoot. Takes place in the River, with lots of community spots. In some areas you could walk from boat to boat. Didn't weigh a fish durring the tournament, everything we caught...and we caught quite a few, were in the slot limit. 3-5lb fish. Oh well, still had a great time, and would love to go back. It's a 6hr drive once you hit the Canadian border...whew!!

Oh....and the huskers DO suck. Cosgrove has to go!!

Short and simple The "Best" Circuit is going to be the one that can most afford to promote it's own self, this in turn promotes the anglers and their sponsors that finish well within that circuit. The deeper the pockets the more airtime/radio time/magazine exposure provided for the major sponsors. IMHO this has little to do with anglers but much to do with sponsors getting the right angle presented to John Q. Public... Mcdonalds Verse's Burger King...

Just my 2 cents....

"Fishing is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope"

I'm up for a trip to Tobin Todd!

Huskers do suck, but the Hawkeyes aren't bowl-eligible yet either :banging:

Todd you make some excellent points. When you wrote The tournament with the most sponsorship dollars wins. I really agree. Now look who has the most sponsor dollars paid out. This may be a long off-season.
If your interested come on over to Western SD. Chris

My vote for Post of the year.

Who cares which circuit is the best! In my mind the more the better because I get to learn more.

In the past 5-10 years I have seen the expertiese in walleye angling grow leaps and bounds in myself, my friends and competitors. The reason? Technology such as the internet, better equipment, bigger & better boats and motors. But the biggest factor I believe has been the tournament anglers sharing their presentations to the masses.
