Hey gang. At the Downriver Walleye Federation meeting Monday the subject of launch ramps came up. My good friend told me that Sterling State park will be closed next year for renovations. And we all know that the other sites will be busier because of it. What I thought would help out all us Michigan anglers is a thread about launch sites you use in this area, doesnt have to be a public facility, could be a private marina that allows anywone to launch for a fee.
I will start it out by suggesting Brest Bay Marina in Newport.
Another one is a marina on the Raisin River, but I cant remember the name.
What launches do you guys use, public and private?
thanks!!!

Perchjecker,
I was out your way Xmas time me and my brother-in-law spent a day visiting all the ramps in that area. So we would be ready to give it a go in the spring. Sterling park is closed, we went in anyway, they have lots of heavy equipment there and where removing trees. These are the ramps south of Monroe. Besides the ones you mentioned we stopped at Bolles Harbor run by DNR, 16 ramps paved parking for about 150 rigs. Luna Piper (City) three cement ramps. dirt parking you need permit from city looks like it dumps in to creek and may be shallow. Toledo Bay Marina (private) single ramp I think the charge posted was $3.00 lots of parking. Sterns Rd. Launch Ramp 4 ramps dirt parking for about 25 rigs this is in a small bay I think it must have a dereged path to lake as it looks shallow. Mich. bumpiest roads go to this one. I have not launched at any of these ramps and there was no one at any of the areas to talk to, so these are just my opinions from visiting them in the winter. Hope it helps.

Thanks for those ramps. Some useful information!!!
Here are the ones I know about:
Wyandotte
Ecorse
Elisabeth Park
Lake Erie Metro park
Pointe Mouilee State Game Area
Brownstown
Lake Pointe Marine
Swan Creek
Brest Bay Marina
Bolles Harbor
Luna Pier
some are too shallow to use, but I am just trying to get an inventory of the area.
I know there are some private marinas, Pier 500, Humbug, Ford Yacht Club, a marina in Trenton, a few others I dont remember the names to. Does anyone know if anyone of these (or ones that have been missed) will let you pay and launch?
thanks!

Besides the one at Luna Pier mentioned, Luna Pier Harbor Club where I keep one of my boats, you can launch their. Also 9 Mile and Jefferson has a City Launch site.
