How does one gain and lose "WC Charter Member" status?

Charter Members are members of walleye central who have been registered users before the new format. It is my understanding that it is something that cannot be won or lost. I assume any member, charter member, or guest can be banned if they cannot behave themself.

Registering as a member has some privlages Like:

1) The ability to edit your posts within on hour of posting.

2) Topic subscription

3) Buddy list

4) An Inbox

5) Name protection

I'm sure I left some out, maybe someone else can add to the list.

This is a great group of people, they've helped me put more fish in the boat/on the ice.

Well, I don't know about name protection....any guest user can post using any registered name. When you do register, I think it's a good idea to come up with some memorable, original moniker. Your initials or first name often will get re-used by others. Example: Perchjerker is original and registered. However, there are guest users posting as Prchjerker that is easily confused. I dumped my Charter Member status for Bad Finger because someone else was using my registerd initials.

One of the other features a registered user has is the ability to see who is logged into WC at any given time. The private messageing is also usefull.

Great question! I was a Charter Member in 2001, however now the "EyeJacker" appears as a "Guest" when posting. I thought it may have been revoked for "practicing surgery without a liscense". :)

Mine is still on Backorder. The blue and white is a popular color.

4eyesanhour - don't get too excited - the Ranger promo was only made available to Charter Members....

Those of us who registered later got these great steak knives. This offer may still be available.

EyeJacker, try logging in, I bet your "charter member" moniker will be there again.

Also, I'm curious as to how we can "see" what other registered members are online?

To see who is logged in...Click on "Conferences", then click on "Check who's online".

Everone should click on "Conferences" periodically. That page will signal a flag that tells you if you have personal messages in you "In-Box" If you have never checked your mail, you may be surprised!

I tried logging in but was bounced out due to lack of user name, password and/or email address (account) recognition. I did go back and search my "EyeJacker" posts in 2001, some 51 or so, as a Charter Member. It appears I have been eradicated either intentionally or otherwise! I suspect I may have become "Personna Non Grata".

Eyejacker, Have you been a bad boy? }> Sorry to hear it wouldn't work for you. Maybe you can reregister your handle anyway?

I may have found guilty of "losing my head" in my enthusiastic support of Chris Bahl (controversy) and unintentionally offended some foks in that firestorm last spring, branded a maverick and sent to the sensorship woodshed(though I inked nary a profane or dirty word). I may have lost the Charter Member status as further rebuke. If that's the case, I guess I can take consolation in it being better than losing my head to the guillotine. :) Oh well, if "guest" it is, "guest" it will have to be.:)

I was a registered member on the old board and was unable to sign on or register on the new board. It wouldn't accept the fact that I was BD and would not let me register as BD because one was allready registered. That was a while back so maybe I will try again just to see what happens.

I think it worked! Does this mean I also have a WC e-mail account or do I need to do something else?

Scott; When do I get my new boat?

Golden

Boats are on back order, the blue and white ones are very popular. ;-)

Eyejacker, I checked the database and that name is not in there, it's the same database from before so I'm not sure what happened.

The database never changed, just the script. So if a person was registered before then the name should be in there but I cannot find it anywhere.

Not sure what could have happened bubba, sorry.

Hey hey...there is only one perchjerker!:P

You are correct, buddy bad. The only thing that saves me is when I post, it shows perchjerker as a registered member. Not that it really matters that much, I mean who else would want to be known as perchjerker, or jerk for short!! <grin>

Howdy BD

Walleye Central E Mail is temporarily on hold. A short while back the company that had the e mail cavalierly told us, "By the way, were going out of business next week." They left us in a lurch.

We have been looking for a suitable e mail host, and we may have found one. But to get someone to host our volume of e mail, for free is a fun task to say the least.

Sit tight, we will do what we can.

Thanks............R

How does a person become a registered member versus a guest user??

Gabby_SD

Targa, hit your back button and go back to the page that says message central and at the top there is a spot that says (go here to register)
http://www.walleyecentral.com/board/index.shtml then follow instructions

If I am not in the data base, how does one account for the 51 or so posts that an "EyeJacker" as "author" search turns up, all indicating Charter Member? Can I infer from your response that I have not been condemned to eternal ****ation and register the "EyeJacker" sobriquet if not already registered? As the former champion of the very first "Muskies Inc." fishing contest(1967), I would consider it an honor indeed if so afforded.:)
