View Full Version : FLW Expands Walleye Tourney Exposure for 2006

A reliable source told me that the FLW will have MUCH BETTER exposure in 2006!
The Lindner Media Group is going to continue to produce the shows. If you liked what you saw this year, then just wait until next year! They only showed us the tip of the ice burg when it comes to their visions and talent.
They are going to be airing the FLW Walleye Tour shows in rotation with all the other FLW tournament trails and we will no longer have to wait until the end of the season to see the Walleye Tour shows. They will also be extending the FLW shows to ONE HOUR shows instead of the 1/2 hour show they have right now.
The FLW Walleye Tour will also go "National" on "Fox Sport Network", instead of the regional slots they are running this year, so we will no longer have to figure out what section of the country each viewing area is in, and then also try to figure out what time it airs in each region.
One day/time for everyone.
FSN National has 78million viewers, so that will help get walleye fishing much better and much needed exposure.
This source went on to say that the FLW Championship in 2006 will payout $100,000.00 to any "brand" angler, and up to $150,000.00 to qualifying contingency anglers for first place. All cash. No boats no diamond rings no truck mud flaps etc added into the winnings as payouts just plain good old fashion CASH!
Just thought this might be of interest.

Qualifier Payouts

Little Birdie,
What are the four regular season qualifiers going to payout. I heard the first place angler will recieve $60,000 cash no matter the boat and up to $100,000 with the right boat and motor.
Also heard the payouts for the second down to 50th are the same as last year.
Is this true Little Birdie?

Linder Media Group? Other than Jim K., just who is still left from the original In-Fish group at In-Fish or the PWT?

I think the only other "original" left is Doug Stange. Word has it that Dave Csanda, the only other In-Fish editor around from the beginning, has left them and joined the Lindner Media Group. Dave was with In-Fish for 20+ years.
It will be great to have Dave covering the FLWWT events next season!

Slide O'Rourke's camera presence and on air personality into there somewhere and you have a heck of a base to build a new industry off of!! These are the kind of changes that will step things up a notch or two....

There shouold be nothing but good things happening from FLW Outdoors this season. If there is this increase in payout plus more exposure for the tour on television then that's just great.

I told you guys to "stay tuned" a couple weeks ago...now it seems the little birdie is starting to sing! It's gonna be an awesome walleye production, the likes of which has not been seen before, and unprecedented exposure for the walleye pros, something they deserve and have earned!
BTW-just shipped the championship show yesterday...an hour-long special that airs the weekend of Dec. 3-4. It turned out great! Also, you don't want to miss Devils Lake this weekend...you all know how wild it is catching walleyes on Devils and this show does a good job of showing that.
Keep watchin'!

There is something here that smells. The lindners brought walleye fishing to the front of millions of anglers. They spread the word and then sold out there company for a big cash reward. Done well.
Now, they start a new company and pick off there employees one after another from there old company. Does that sound correct? They also produce films for the exact opposite of what they started. There competion in the tournament world.
Now, You guys sit back and praise them. What will they do next, sell this company and then start another later? Al and Ron are God fearing and have no problem telling the world they are. They mix church and state rather easily and to me this does not seem to christian like.
I for one have lost respect for both guys. Business is business, HOWEVER, when you preach one thing and do another you are a hipocrit!

Hugh,
I normally won't respond to statements like this, however in this case I find it impossible to ignore. So...
Do you know how the Lindners got started in the In-Fish organization and how the PWT was an integral part? Probably not
Do you know all the inner workings and details of the separation of the Lindners and the In-Fisherman? Probably not.
Do you understand private enterprise, the risk and the reward? In regards to your statements it appears you may not.
Do you know any of the Lindners, their employees or their philosophies other than being "God fearing"? You probably do not.
Do people no matter their religion, race, or social make up have the right to earn a living, in fact EARN as much as they can in a field that each is good at? I think so, it appears that you do not feel that they do.
As far as "picking off former employees". Has it ever ocurred to you that the employees may have wanted to work for the Lindners when they left In-Fish but the opportunity with the "new " company hadn't afforded itself. Now as Lindner Media is growing the opportunities may be far greater, wouldn't you want to work where there is growth and opportunity?
Mixing church and state???? That is truly an amazing statement as Lindners' produce the shows (Inside Edge) and interject a small amount of belief in each show. The tournament shows do not have the same interjection. This is not government, and I still can't understand what the core meaning of your statement was.
Lastly,
This past year I have met all the staff at Lindner Media and have never met a more fun, dedicated and driven group of people in my life. I consider them friends and colleagues and wish nothing but the best for everyone of them. True professionals with a passion for all elements of fishing and the outdoors and a talent for letting us experience it in our living rooms.
This is not to be a slam to you Hugh but more of a "slow down" and ask questions of yourself before judging others in an open forum such as this. Your answers may be surprising

Hugh,
The Lindners built the finest fishing publication company to come along. Primedia saw that and bought them out. Thats just business and nothing wrong there.
Ron and Al had had a non-compete clause for x-number of years and had plans of doing a T.V. show again with a different format at the end of their contract. Thats just business and nothing wrong there.
When it comes to filming footage on fishing they are the "Best". Why would'nt FLW Outdoors have them do their show. The FLW was not even a circuit when they sold their company. Thats just business and nothing wrong there.
When people leave a company, there is a reason for it. Perhaps they no longer fit in with or agreed with the direction that the company was taking. Maybe there's a problem at Primedia. People change jobs in this business. When some of these people are the best, why would'nt the Linders hire them? Thats just business and nothing wrong there.
As far as the reference to being christians and having double standards you're so far off base it's not funny. Perhaps your agenda needs to be looked at.
As far as the Lindner Media group now doing the filming for the FLW Walleye Tour, I think it's wonderful to have a quailty fishing show like they are producing on the air again. It will do nothing but further showcase Walleye fishing the way it should be.
Thats just business and nothing wrong there.

Everyone seems to want national exposure and publicilty for Walleye tournaments.
So we have the FLW bringing in the Linders who have a record of positive results in what they have done...
Then on the other hand we have Primedia going the opposite direction with limited invitation only events.
I'd put my money behind the Linders any day.
