I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the Cabela's NTC for this year. Where they are having it/dates?

I got this from another web message board. The director of that tournament circuit said he cannot get answers from Cabelas. He posted contact info for Eric Banks, supposedly this is the man at Cabelas that runs the NTC. eric.banks@cabelas.com or 308-254-5505

Good Luck on having Eric return your calls. Our office must have called him 8 to 10 times, each time leaving a message and then finally someone else returned the call. Eric is now in charge of the NTC, but I don't think he is the same Eric that we remember from the 2003 NTC!
I can tell you this, the 2006 Cabela's NTC will NOT be at Milford Lake, KS.
We have been contacted by two communites up north, one that did not even submit a bid (We did). One community was on Lake Erie, I think and the other in IA, again...I think.

Be patient folks. Cabelas is doing some restructuring...I believe that I heard that Eric is going to a different department. I know they have been working very hard on this.

Have they been "restructuring" every year? There are always plenty of excuses, but it gets worse every year. In the end it always seems to come off, but many people get trampled on by Cabela's lack of ability to get information out in a timely manner and disorganization. This tournament is nice but it is getting to look like it is not worth the trouble.

Here are some facts: Eric's boss is no longer with the company. Eric hired a person to work on tournaments, and in the several months this person has been on the job, there has been little if any apparent progress. Some tournaments have been given their spots 2-3 weeks ago, and others are still waiting. There is talk that they will either expand the NTC or drop it altogether. I believe not even those at Cabela's knows which it is. They may pull it off again this year, and we may have to wait until the last minute as usual to make plans. Those who do not have felxible schedules will be left out in the cold. If I am invited again I will probably not go.

Cabela's has proven with the NAWA that mismanagement can ruin the best of plans and I see the NTC headed down the same road.

This is the only information i could pull out of them.If the tournament is accepted by the location they are talking to, it would be held on May 26&27,with the dinner on thursday the 25th.The chances are supposedly about 90 percent for those dates.I know that's nothing definite, but it helped me form some sort of tournament calendar.

Boomrr, I sure hope you're wrong! I had to miss my first NTC last year because of a Memorial day weekend date. If it is that weekend again this year, I can kiss my second qualifying effort goodbye, AGAIN! It'll be my last effort to qualify.
