View Full Version : WWA Still Alive
After The Sad News
01-20-2006, 11:07 AM
After the sad news of the GNWC going belly up, is this also in the cards for the WWA? The owner of this circuit never bothers to let anyone know what's happening. At least Bernie came out and let everyone know.
Lots of guts and obviously a decent guy.
The WWA is alive. It needs some work, but it's going. Contacting Steve by phone is best. The # is on the site, if that doesn't work, reply here and I'll see if I can get you another # for him.

Your guesses are pretty close guys. There were only like 4 or 5 boats I believe as the tournament wasn't advertised and I received no press releases about it. I thought there would be a good turnout but looked like not very many guys knew about it. The teams that fished were good teams but just not a lot of them.
Thanks, Bill

From what I am hearing, Steve may have another person fill the role of tournament director for the Minnesota circuit next year to help him out. One person can't do it all and he has a lot of other commitments too. The WWA has always been fun to fish for many in the past and I hope it grows back to what it use to be. Steve is a very nice guy and I wish him the best.
Thanks, Bill

I fished it years ago .I think? before he ran it and it was fun and well run. I hope they make it back.H owever with this economy and the price of fuel I am seeing a lot of people droping out of several tournaments.More than I have seen in the past and even in the big leagues. It should be an interesting year to see how many show up to the events I fish.I think it will be down some as it is costing more to fish them and even to run them.If this keeps up we may all be back to row boats

They had 5 boats in 2007 so ?
If he need help he needs to ask for it, There are plenty that could have improved and updated his web site.
I spoke to John Hailings personally and he said he does not have dates yet.
Jules was told that everything was fine and going to be up , that was over 4 weeks ago.
I really wish him well in his new Job that is his # 1 concern.
But the Chain is too great of a Set of Lakes not to have a Premier Walleye Tournaments announced 60 days prior to April 1st. Thats when the Permit had to be pulled, so a full Schedule like other organizations on or before February 1, 2008 is not out of the Question. It just did not happen and it is Now April 10 with no news.
A sad Spring for the IL Fox Chain.
