We had the chance to go see A walleye spawn camp today.
If you ever get the chance to see one, don't pass it up.We seen 50 walleye that were over 10lbs,some were over 15lbs.The spawner told us he had one that he couldn,t get his hand around the tail to spawn it. from the fish we seen it must be 18 to 20lbs
We fish hard late in the fall to catch these 10lbs + walleye.Last year we released 9 fish over 10lbs
The best thing about this is I live in Saskatchewan, and the spawn camp is on A lake that is only 60 miles from home. The fish we catch in the fall are on A lake that is 200 miles from home
"big deal" it's in the neighbourhood.

LET THEM GO LET THEM GROW

Hi Wood

You must be talking about the spawn camp in Coteau Bay on Diefenbaker Lake. I fished there last Saturday and thought I should stop in and have look see but I didn't. Another nice local program is the Saskatchewan Wildlife built a portable Walleye hatchery. Currently it's located at Buffalo Pound Lake with Approximatly 1.5 million eggs from the spawn camp at Diefenbaker. Last year they boosted a 55% hatch rate which apparently is very good. Anyway, if you ever get a chance to check it out it's quite ingenious. The boys put lots of good ol' Sask know how into it.

Hi Wood

We spent the whole day mainly live bait rigging and jigging for walleye in Coteau bay. I guess we should have moved around more because it wasn't very successful. I've talked to alot of guys who have nailed a lot rainbows. I was going to go back to Dief. on Saturday, probably the Qu'Appelle Dam area but I just checked the weather and they say a high of 5. Brrrrrrrrrr. Haven't decided yet. I may hold of to Sunday.........if I can wait. Where did you get all the rainbows? Most of the guys I spoke to were slaming them around the trout farm and the Riverhurst area/Hamilton Bay area.
