Map Software and low cost Digital maps or map scaning

MapTech seems expensive and it doesn't seem to offer any map scaning ability.

I have tried trialware from Fugawi but they seem to have some issues with the GPS they support and I'm not to impressed with their technical support.

Anyother options out there??

There are other options out there but, the two you've cited are top shelf. A word of caution however, as the maps to be scanned are likely copyrighted. That's why we license our data to companies like Navionics, Garmin and National Geographic. We do monitor things like this to protect our products. Just thought you should know.
