I'm looking for a new lindy rig rod to fish Mille Lacs and others. Looking at fenwick's techna series or a loomis. Any suggestions?

Hello:

Either of those choices Im sure would be great. You can spend $60 or $300. But make sure it is at least 7ft. long, a good sensative tip to feel the bottom, strong backend for setting the hook, not a stiff rod so the walleye feels tension when it decides to swim with the bait.

Good Shopping and Fishing!

try the loomis imx 8400 7' 1 pc. This is the rod that most of the top guy's on mille lacs use, it is top notch!

That brings up a good question...what would be considered too heavy? Would you opt for a medium lite or go with medium action? Jeff

For mille lacs with weights to 1/2 oz -- use medium light -- most of the time.

For heavier weights - go with a medium.

I have found the 8400 or one of the St. Croix 7 medium light to be excellent for the lighter choices.

For the heavier bottom bouncers -- the 9000 loomis is great - as is one of the 7' meium from St. Croix.

Take care

Loomis HS-9000 7'6" I feel is the best riging rod.
