After making phone calls to both the Wisconsin DNR and the Minnesota DNR, and also to Sonny Reyonolds this morning, on the subject of how many lines/bait presentations will be allowed at this event, we've come to find out it will be the following:
"Two lines with a single lure or bait on each are permitted. If fishing with one line you may use two baits."
For example: Anglers who like to use a jig as a weight on a three way with a floater or crankbait above it, will only be allowed one rod if they choose to present it that way.
Minnesota and Wisconsin have different regulations on the Boundry Waters of the Mississippi (see below), so we called Sonny to find out what the FLW rule is going to be and he told us it would be Minnesota's Boundry Water Regulation, which states:
"Two lines with a single lure or bait on each are permitted. If fishing with one line you may use two baits."
The Wisconsin side of the Boundry Water states: (and this is the one we will NOT be permitted to use )
"Each angler may fish with a total of three baits, lures, or hooks.
Just thought I would get that info out there in case anyone was wondering what the rules were.
