Hey sportspeople,
I bought a St. Croix premier series rod for jigging the Detroit River any suggestions for a baitcasting reel for this rod.
Thanks,

Depends on whether you want a low profile reel or a round style. In a low profile it's hard to beat the Shimano Curado. For round reels I like the Abu Morrum 5600.

Thanks for the advice on the reels, heading to cabellas to check them out.
Thanks again

Been using a Shimano calcutta and a Penn 965. Very happy with both. Good Luck.

I tried and liked the Pinnacle Tetra HS at the Chicagoland show and plan on buying one for this season. The retrieve action was as smooth as oil on glass, seven bearings instead of five. It also had a combination inertial and magnetic drag brake with external adjustment dial. Seemed really nice to me, and at $119 it didn't break the bank.
