I noticed on the FLW website that at the upcoming Winneconne event, you are only allowed 7 fish total (weigh 5). At Petenwell it was 8, and I was just wondering if anyone knew why that might be? I understand the 8 fish limit so both guys can continue fishing, but why the change to 7 for Winneconne?

My guess is that when you are trolling and get a double, chances are you are still leagal. If you had 4 lines in the water with five fish in the livewell you would not be breaking the rules of the tourny or the State. Two of them would be short anyway and you would be done fishing for the day if you kept the other two, without breaking any rules. That is if your into following rules.

sorry trap99 but that really don't make any sense. The seven fish , I would guess because the waters are warming and there is more of a chance for mortality and they would like to keep it to a minimum.

We were told at the recent Red Wing event that is what was specified on the DNR permit.
