A question to the pro's. What happens if the am positions don't fill for a tourney, or is this ever a problem? Doesn't seem fair to send pro's out on their own. Do you agree with the way the pwt solves this problem? Just curious, thanks.
PS. My first PWT at Mobridge this year and looking forward to it!!!!

My understanding of it is, if they can't get enough am's, which has never been a problem, they will pair up the pro's so everyone goes out with two in a boat. The pro's will be able to share info, and each can bring equipment into the boat. No two pro's will fish together for more than one day.

I've never heard of that "putting 2 pro's in the same boat". I have heard where they fill the field with people that don't pay entry fees and are thus not eligible for winning anything in return.
Good luck in Mobridge this year I've fished that one twice as an Amatuer. Lots of fun, long boat runs south, but lots of fun.

Regards,

Scott Lee

Since there is six times as much water as dry land on earth, any fool
can plainly see the good Lord meant for man to fish six times as much as he works.

Although I haven't seen the situation come up an any of the recent years, here is a copy/paste from the PWT rules concerning pairings:

B. In the case of pros drawn with pros, which may occur if the Amateur partner/co-angler field is reduced (and sufficient Amateur
partner alternates are not available), the highest seeded pro will be in control of the boat. Pros will be drawn together for only one
tournament day. The pros drawn together may share fishing information and gear.

PWT started out as a PRO PRO event. It was no fun at all. Each pro got boat control for half a day. That was after you desided who's boat you would use. Drew a guy the first time at Ft. Peck that insisted we hit his spot that was 60 miles one way from my #1 spot. Short story was after going way up the dry arm, for nothing he said "they were here last year".

I always thought they looked for volunteers if not all of the co-spots were filled. It doesn't seem real fair to send 2 pros together. And it also said..."for only 1 day". Well what happens on day 2 and 3 if there were only 2 spots open? My other question that was asked earlier regarding the FLW DQ's in Winne. What happens to thos Co's who's Pro's were DQ'd?
