The premeire "New Eastern Walleye Circuit" (N.E.W.C.)is proud to announce the winners of the first event for this exciting new circuit.
Chuck Sabatose and Rich Fike shocked the crowed in attendance when they weighed in there tournament winning basket of 5 walleyes that tipped the scales at 38.88 pounds!
When asked what the key to there success was, there were several factors, but paying attention to the small details is what helped them to dial in the winning program.
They had caught 2 decent fish in a short stretch the day before about 5 miles from the launch, and decided to start there first in the morning. During the course of the morning they caught 4 good fish, and several 5 pound fish as well, and by noon they had the exact depth the suspended fish were targeting, speed , and lure color dialed in. I asked them if they caught very many fish and they reported throwing back over 30 five to six pound fish, while they were trying to upgrade one fish. they used both harnesses and Reef Runner lures during the day, but most of the big fish came on the Reef Runners.
The team of Bob Henton and Lance Conner landed a beautiful 10.83 pound walleye that gave them Big Fish honors for the event.
The top ten teams were as follows.
1st place Chuch Sabotose - Rich Fike 38.88 pounds
2nd place Larry Johnson - Jason Lawrence 30.66 pounds
3rd place Bob Henton - Lance Conner 30.06 pounds & big fish
4th place Glenn Boser - Mike Sostakowski 29.42 pounds

6th place Ed Rogowski - Melissa Rogowski
7th place Karl Elsner - Mike Tankersly
8th place Paul Huckno - Mark Anderson

The following teams won these additional awards.
