Go to Saginaw bay Walleye club and click on schedule for 06 and then the results on the AuGres qualifier...
My daughter(Linda Carnill) and I fished it (her very first one) and she caught a 9-1/2 #er in pre-fish and the a 8.34 on the first day of the tournie. That got the big fish prize for that day. We were then in 6th place day one and moved to 12th the final day. She had a very large eye break her off the second day (my fault for not checking the zebra damage regularly)and it bummed her out. I explained to her that that's fishing and to keep trucking. She dug in and fished hard all 4 days...She looked at me and said that there is alot of behind the scenes work in this stuff and was totally exhausted. She did great not being used to the amount of detail involved. She had a blast and recieved alot of attention. That's what it's all about!!! I know I'm one glad Dad and hope to fish with her again. WHAT AN AWESOME PARTNER!!!

Good for you and your daughter. The other not so awesome tid bit of information is that the MWT Augres Tournament held on Saginaw Bay only had 75 teams fishing it. Times are a "changin".

How is that whinning??? I believe he was stating a fact. Tournaments are changing. Unfortunately with gas prices they way they are...it's harder and harder to play. It's disapointing to see smaller and smaller fields in tourneys. More participants mean better and farther down payouts.

Kudos to you and your daughter!! :)

Paul it was a fun event. Lots of smaller fish to keep us busy. Luckily there were a few good fish sprinkled in with the smaller ones. I enjoyed seeing the grin on your daughters face as she talked about all the fun. I can only hope that my daughter takes to fishing like your daughter is. With a partner like your daughter you had better get used to her getting all the attention! Ted
