Wow! It is going to be like fishing in a oven out there for the PWT anglers. I thought the 90's at Green Bay were killer, but this has got to be an actual test of endurance! Whew!
Today: Partly cloudy and hot, with a high near 101. East southeast wind at 10 mph becoming northwest.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 64. North northwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming south.
Friday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 103. North northwest wind between 8 and 13 mph.
Good luck to all...it seems to be a pretty close competition out there!

I have to wonder, in this heat, can they really save that many fish? It looks like a few guys were dinged for dead fish.

Just like last year!
I was down pre fishing with some friends and over 100 everyday. They both have Lunds with the wash down hose and we hooked up a mister to the hose to keep us cool. Boy was that the cats meow!!!

That sounds like the answer, but what/how does the "wash down" hose work? I'm assuming that was an add on that runs off the battery and accessory switch. I've never seen one in a Ranger (probably because of all the carpet in Rangers). Is that a Lund option, or aftermarket set up?
Not that I would ever get one, I'm just curious. :)

Juls:
The washdown hose is a standard feature on select LUNDS. The Pro V 1900 and 2025's have them.
It's one of those features that you think you will never use when you first get the boat but find out that you’re glad that you have it. It's great for taking care of the blood stains and coffee stains immediately so you have less clean up later.
Come along side me the next time we do a tournament together and I'll show you how great it works. But be forewarned, it has a range of about 25 yards. }(

I was down there last Fri, Sat, Sun. In addition to the temps for the next few days, I don't think it's been under 95 since they got there. A day or two is tough, but it's been this way all week for the anglers!
If the wind blows, even just a little, it will help. If it's dead calm, like it has been often, it's baaaaaddddd.
I took off my shoes, and put my feet over the side in the water for a while when there was no wind - that helped. Had to be careful of anything metal on the boat, the hinges on the floor compartments would burn your feet!
Some guys had bimini tops, and were using them. You could tell the difference right now when the sun went behind a cloud, and just prayed for it to stay there.
Misting from the washdown hose would work, but I think once you start that, you'd have to keep it up for the whole day, probably need to have your swimsuit on!
Lund put a wash down hose in the boats a couple years ago. It's standard on the Pro V model. It's on this page: http://www.lundboats.com/2025prov_06.html

I'll make sure it's a hot day when I do! It sure would beat using the bucket full of water, that my Co Angler had me dump on him at Green Bay. lol A mister sounds very nice. :)

Ain't that the truth! At Green Bay I was using a giant golf umbrella to shade my Co and I when the wind stopped blowing. I also used a bucket to soak my feet in to cool off.
I just posted a response to Dennis that my Co wanted a bucket full of water dumped over his head. That cooled him off for a while too.
I keep the golf umbrella in the boat for my dogs, when we are prefishing. It fits nicely in the front seat pedestal hole, and throws a lot of shade. I never thought I would end up using it for my partners and myself... sure glad I had it in the boat though! I know they filmed it, but I doubt that they will use that footage. ;)

I know of at least one Pro at GB that actually dove in to cool off. Not sure if he did the usual cannon ball, or swan dive.
Dennis, good to find out you weren't peeing at me!

I hate it when the sunscreen you have on starts to make that frying sound on your cheeks!

Last I heard temperature peaked at 111 down there today.
In this heat I carry a 1 quart squirt bottle in the boat. More if the family/friends are along. Squirt gun fights are refreshing then. The water heats up quickly in the bottle, just have to refill it often from the lake. Works for a little while anyway.
Forcast for 108 here for Sunday. When is she ever gonna end. yea! I know November/December/January/February/March right around the corner. BRING IT ON!!
Wash down hose sounds like a must for the next boat. Bimini top too!!

I just got back from Mobridge. Those were the worst conditions I have ever fished in. Pre-fishing was hot. Day two was actually the most unbearable. There was no wind at all. Day three had the hottest temperature, but at least there was a breeze. It felt like you had a blast furnace blowing on you, when you were going at full throttle.
I have to commend all the fisherman, pro's and am's. With the conditions, only one angler got sick from the heat. Everyone was able to hydrate themselves enough.
