I am looking for a little help finding a good place to stay on mille lacs for a weekend. Nothing fancy since I am only going to sleep and clean fish there.(hopefully)Any body offer any suggestions? Within 20 or so miles ok. Also, my dad has never fished the lake.Any good Ideas on where to start for perch during the day, or walleyes at night? I haven't been up yet this year. Would like to put him on fish. We have the tents and electronics, just looking for a place to start.(no atv or snowmobile)

There are many, many, many places to stay right on the lake. One of my personal favorites is Scenic Bay Resort. Tim and Tina will take good care of ya. They have cabins and a small motel right in Isle.

I, also, thought Scenic Bay would be a great place to stay. The only problem? Nowhere on their website is there any mention that none of their units are air-conditioned! Something to consider if you plan on being there in the summer.

I have a trailer at Scenic Bay, the owners Tim & Tina are great hosts and its good fishing for Perch or Muskie's right in Isle Bay or go out into lake for Walleye's, Muskie, or Smallies.

If you are tenting it, Father Hennipen State Park is also a great choice.

Another vote for Scenic Bay Resort. Very quiet, and very freindly!! Tim knows whats up with the bite, and can save you a lot of time searching.

If you look at my site and go to the specific unit pages - motel - efficiency cabin or lakefront cabin it does state that there are fans (no air conditioning). I also try to make it a point to tell people that there is no a/c for reservations in July, etc. Sometimes I forget but I would never not tell intentionally. We prefer to be honest about our resort - we would much rather have people pleased with their accommodations when they arrive than to be mislead. Thanks for your vote of confidence, we appreciate it very much.

Tina was very honest with me in telling me she did not have accomodations for our get together because of the # that replied to the poll.
I think that he is going ice fishing soon.
They are driving on the lake but on the west side there were no resorts that had a bridge across the second ice heave so that limited you to within 1 mile of shore. I heard both Terry's and Eddies lost at least 1 bridge from the changing ice conditions.
I would guess that the flats on the north end will be going good in a week or two for perch and walleye.
We had our best luck on 20' rocks by Myr Mar at night no perch but big eyes with some keepers plan on staying till midnight.
Move around for perch and stay away from crowds.
The # 1 piece of equipment is going to be your GPS because there is no snow unless they got some lately.
Myr Mar has roads marked all the way to 8 mile flat with 18 to 20 inches of ice.
Hope this helps

I can't imagine it would take much to air-condition some(or all) of your units. I was one of the customers you forgot to tell. I arrived on a 95 degree day last summer and after having checked in discovered the horror. I then understood the reasonable rates. I gladly would have paid an extra $10 a day for a/c. Twenty days per room at an extra $10 and you could install a/c and THEN lower your rates back down. I know things are tough up there right now but it's just a suggestion. Better clarification on your website would have been nice also since I had booked with you 2 months in advance. I ended up around the corner at McQuoids. Nice Place, Nice People!
