I was at the final weigh-in for the League championship and me and a few others thought we heard that Glenn Chenier and Randy Schultz by virtue of their win could fish the Tour championship in Pierre,SD Oct 4-7, 2006. Talked to one of the anglers and they had heard nothing about it? Went to FLW's website today and see the press release for the championship and notice 51 Pro's and 51 Co's, Here is the first paragraph:
"21.Sep.2006
PIERRE, S.D. — Lake Oahe, located near Pierre, S.D., will host the world’s most lucrative walleye tournament Oct. 4-7. The tournament will feature the top 51 professional walleye anglers in the world paired with the top 51 co-anglers for four days of competition. As much as $150,000 cash will go to the winning pro, and as much as $22,000 cash will go to the winning co-angler in this $675,000 no-entry-fee championship."

My question is are these two League Champions indeed invited to the Tour Championship? Would be great incentive for future Leaguers, anyone with information please post. Thank you.

No, that's not what's happening.
As the press release states, there IS going to be 51 Pros and 51 Co's competing this year, and the reason is the following:

1. There was a tie for 50th place.
2. The rules did not have a "tie-breaker" set up for the "Top 50"...(that's one rule that will be revised in the 07 brochure)
3. Since there was an extra Pro qualified this year, they had to bring in a Co Angler too.

Hope that answers your question.

Yes, it does thank you. Like I said a handful of people heard the announcement at the weigh in, but nothing else was said. Thanks again Juls.
