I will be fishing Lake Erie for the first time in April. With a limited buget for lures, what are your (3) favorite crankbaits and also (3) favorite colors? List in order please.

Thanks in advance!

From what I understand, Reef Runners are a main stay on the Lake. Look up old posts about reef runners and that will give you an idea about colors. Hope this helps. JJ

Reef Runners - Blue/silver, Firetiger, Watermelon
Ripsticks- Same
Deep Husky Jerks - Clown

Depending on where the fish are in the water column will dictate what bait I run. Last eyar it was Ripsticks, the year before it was the deep running baots.

Good luck. Remember to look for the clean water. That is important on Erie.

Renosky, Renosky, Renosky
1. Rainbow
2. Purple/Pink
3. Perch
4. Blue Shad
5. Blue/Charteuse
6. Wonderbread

At $4 a pop they don't kill the budget either.

Follow back through the old posts (about 3-5 days ago) and find the post started there by Gary Gray on the Renosky lures.

I like the Deep Jr Thundersticks myself as a first choice.
etal rainbow Trout is a personal fav over the years for color.

Next choice would be the reef runner ripstick for those high riders. Color called texas red has worked really well in the past.

I have also done well with #9 Shad raps.

Keep the line tight,
