Most people have received their confirmations for the Tour, I have found out that the Issues relating to the VHS Virus have yet to be resolved concerning the Detroit River Tourney. I would not run out to get your Canadian License just yet, I would give it another 2-3 weeks for the appeals process to go through and possibly save yourself the money on a License you may not need. You will still have plenty of time to get your License if the appeals go through. I can't say where I got this information so please don't ask but it is very reliable. I am sure the FLW will give us ample time to purchase our licenses for this event.

Bob you insight to these issues is remarkable, you never cease to amaze me with your innate wisdom, thanks
If you order your license thru one of the tackle stores, how long does it take? Hopefully they will give us enough time before the League event on the Detroit. It is a week and a half sooner than the Tour.
Thanks

Im not to sure about this but I believe bottom line goes over to Duffs and picks up the licenses on specific days. I know if there is ice flowing it might delay the process a little. Im not 100% about this. Most of you guys know where Duffs is right? you can get your licenses there before you start pre-fishing. So there really is nothing to worry about after all.

Surely you can buy an Ontario license online? Do you really have to do it over the phone?

I order mine using the number above, it usually takes 3 weeks. The do not have an online ordering system unless something has changed for out of state licenses.
I got mine online for the tournament last year
I want to wait until closer to the League event to see if we even need one. Why spend an extra $75 on license if I don't have to. I would like to wait until the Mon. before the League event and order it then if it looks like we will be able to fish Canada. I am a Co and will be comming on Fri afternoon. I do not think I will have enough time to go across into Canada by land and make it back in time for the meeting. Sometimes (especially on a Fri afternoon) it can take an hour to get over and an hour to get back. Last year coming back from a week long fishing adventure in Canada it took us 2 hrs to get back into the States.

If cost is an issue, consider an Ontario conservation license which is about half the cost and allows you to essentially take half a limit. I believe the FLW only allows five fish in possession anyway, so you wouldn't be handicapping your pro for the day.

bottomline usually goes WAY out of their way to make a late night trip over to canada after the registration to get lic. for everyone that needs it! then they are back open reallllllll early to get your lic. to you. while your there buy some stuff!!! great place!
only ontario residents may purchase their tag online.

non-residents may order by telephone, and it will be mailed. or in person.

bottom line drives over, they don't go to duff's. you may go to duff's to get yours in person, but you must call in to customs if you dock in canada. since the canadian coast guard station is only a mile away, there's a good chance they will see you coming and going. they may pull you over if they observe you leaving. they will ask for your customs authorization number that you got when you called in. if you want to wait till you arive here to buy your tag the simplest way is to visit bottom line as soon as you arive. as ebijack said they know the drill and will be going over at least every other day.
when we lose the 2nd. amendment the others will be history too!
