Does anyone else think it's about time for the walleye tournament world to step up into the modern world and get rid of life bait?

No, I think they will stay in the REAL world and let the anglers catch fish using the best means possible.

Live bait or artificials, what does it matter. Both applications have their moments.

The point is that to the rest of the tournament world walleye guys look like local yocals having to use life bait. I just don't see "pro" and life bait being compatable with each other.

Why would tournament walleye fisherman be looked at any differently than others just because they use LIVE bait? Isn't the goal to put walleyes in the livewell? I can see why it isn't used in bass fishing, but walleye fishing is a totally different game.

If we wanted walleye fishing to be like bass fishing, we could make the entire middle of the lake off limits and only cast to the shoreline....

this has got to be a joke from someone who suffering badly from cabin fever. Why else would he insist on calling it life bait. When we all know life gets soggy way to fast you have use the brands that dont get soggy in milk.

While we are on the subject... what are shinners? Is that something you get from falling on the dock when fishing with Life Bait?

Marble Eyes
02-27-2007, 09:39 AM
Shinnerrs are created when you drop your Honey Nut Cheerios into a Box of Frosted Flakes and Captain Crunch turns them into Rice Crispies.

Don't even get started on Aunt Jamima used as scent. :)

Since life minnows cannot be transported across state lines, life bait in the future will most likely be narrowed down to just life worms and life leeches.

Alot of rib shots there guys. Jigstop has probably come to realize his mistake but is too embarassed to return here.

Jigstop - its LIVE bait, not life bait. Start another thread and ask the same question.

Jigstop, the reason the pro bass fisherman don't use live in tourneys is becuase they aren't allowed to. Its live bait, not life bait. Sorry for the ribbing, its all in good fun.

Mr. Sauger
02-28-2007, 08:12 PM
I don't think many pros use life bait anymore.
Conventional wisdom dictates using Frosted Flakes in the sun, and Lucky Charms on cloudy days.

Kooser,
What makes you such a authority on life bait? I have been selling life bait for 42 years on the Kellogs sponsored circuits or was that the proctor gamble circuit. Any one that wants live bait to go away should go green carp fishing.

Yeah Ok, I get your point about life bait. I thought you meant something else. BUT you really have to be careful when using it because sometimes life bait can sneak up on ya and grab you by the behind, so don't turn your back on it.

I couldn't resist.

Cavern of doom

Cornflakes gaze up out of the pit. The unreachable rectangle of freedom gapes above them. They must be free. They will be free! A face appears, freedom is near! Slowly their prison tilts and releases them into the air. Oh the glory of the outside world! They fall into a white bowl and are bathed in white liquid. They become filled with terror and start to drown. A seemingly friendly shiny rescuer appears. Lifted up and up. Surely they are safe now. A cavern opens before them. A cavern of doom.
