Is there a slot limit on Green Bay, and if so what is it?

Correction, the Little Bay de Noc area has a limit of 5 fish over 15" of which only one being over 23".

The Fox River has a 1 over 28" limit from the 1st monday in March to the regular season opener of the 1st saturday in May.

However there is some proposed changes regarding sizes and limits in the works. I'm not sure if that'll effect the Bay this year or not.

No slot limit for the NTC. Should be 5 fish over 15inchs. Which makes for some real real big weights this time of year.. 40lbs in one day Is a practical weight for a 250 boat tourny this time of year. you never know thoe, if its blowing the weights will be low and everyone (sane) will be stuck in the river.

I was wondering if there was culling allowed on Green Bay?

I don't think that you can take fish across state lines anymore either for all of you that are going to make that long run to michagn.

Because of all the problems you can bet it will be Wis waters only.

If there is a no cull, they should give all the teams some sort of tag to put on the fish so that they can't cull, you know some will break the rules.

Its going to be a NO CULLING tourny (its the law). But didnt FLW have something passed for bass anglers allowing them to Cull??? Or was that only in the works

In the slot, you can still catch each persons daily bag limit of 5 fish, but you can only bring you largest 5 fish to the scales? The WAT we have to release our the fish we are releasing when we reach the tournament officials at the docks, but we are allowed to catch a limit of fish for each person, which would be 5 fish. But of the 10 we can only wieghin 5. Does the NTC go about it the same way?

The NTC only lets you put six (6) fish in your livewell...then you are done for the day. You throw out your smallest fish at the scales and weigh your best five (5). That is the way it has been done in the past.

The law states that on the fox river from the De pere dam to the mouth and all the Wisconsin waters of Green bay are a 3 fish limit per person wich means you can have no more than six fish in the live well. Also because it is a no cull once you have 5 fish in the live well you can't use more than one person's rods because one of the team all ready has a full limit.

Green Bays State rules are 3 fish per angler with NO cull. Once you have the 6th fish in the well you are DONE fishing for the day. You may NOT place a fish in the well and remove it later for a bigger one.
State law is 3 rods per angler, however the tours only let you run 2 per angler, but up to 3 lines each.

Looks like the winners of this tournament will dominated by the locals as did the ntc at bay de noc at least the ntc tournament last year on lake sharpe everyone had and equal playing field because for almost all the tearm this was virgin waters but green bay it sounds as if the fishing will be great however it looks like you will need to catch big fish to be in the running and the big fish spots seem to be secret to all but locals and some of these secret spots are for sale. (Cabela's) having a tournament in areas like this is not fair to most of us that have to travel a long distance to fish water we have never seen with only the knowledge that the maps we purchase and study can provide us with (sorry I think $1,000.00 for a map is out of line) If you were stranded on the lake I am sure most of the sportsmen fishing this tournament would render aid and not even ask to be compensated for their help.
I sure hope the bait shops in the area will be willing to share some info. with out of area anglers so we have and opertunity to compete with the locals.

Rendering aid and doing your pre-fishing for a 2 totally different things! You acn take your chances with the "local" bait stores (good luck) I might add, because what they tell you, they have already told 100 other people and are gonna tell a hundred more. You could always just follow a local around, I'm sure they would be willing to give you all the spots for free!:banging:

The FLW proved last year that there are no "secrets". Don't sweat it.

The bay is huge but take some time and study the maps only about 10 percent of the bay is going to hold 90 percent of the fish. I think that this body has great potential for some one who is comeing for their first time. If you put in a good 4 days of prefish you should be able to figure out a decent pattern. The hard part is knowing what fish to keep and what one to put back. If you are on the right fish it can be tuff to put a 23 inch fish back but the winners will more than likely do just that.

well sounds like a challange to me. How about I drive the boat out and decide where you are going to fish. Then we will see how many fish you can catch anywhere on the bay.

I would think, no matter what body of water you are on, the locals are going to have an edge. If a team is going to this tournament in hopes of doing well they will need to pony up some cash, whether it be via buying maps or paying for a guide service. If I were going to this tourney, I would be studying like a pre-med student trying to get into med school. I'd also find one #### of a guide.
One thing is for sure, a good gambling man will put his money on the good ol' Cornhusker teams. GO BIG RED!!!
