Yeah, I'll think about the the sun and tan when I drive through the snowbank in my driveway in the morning. It's about all that'll get me going this week. :D

Of the 100 team tournament field, Wade Vandover and Rollie Karels of Big Stone City SD won the tournament with 6 fish weighing just over 14 pounds. SD won the state competition vs Mn with six of the top ten teams coming from SD. The state trophy will be proudly displayed out at Schmidts Landing until next years tournament. 5.7# pounds was the largest fish weighed in the tournament. 19 teams weighed a 6 fish limit. If my memory serves me correctly all but 15 teams caught fish. There was over $10,000 in cash and prizes given out at the weigh in and from the sounds of the feedback from many of the fisherman it was a big success. One of the most talked about awards given out was Team Viagra $100 bonus which was given out to the highest placing team that had both members over 55 yrs of age which was given out to Sonny and Mary Arndt of Ortonville, Mn. They placed 5th over all with 11.50 pounds. It seemed most anglers were either pitching jigs very shallow on the shorelines or pulling/casting plugs in 4-7ft of water.
