I will be fishing my first FLW walleye league tournament next month in Winneconne WI. I will be fishing the boater division. Any tips or advice for pre-tournament or tournment day activites would be greatly apperciated. This will be my first tournament with this type of format. Is there somewhere I can find last years results of this tournament? What are the normal fishing hours of the tournament? Thank you for the info.

Be prepared... you are required to provide all of the tackle and gear for both you and your co-angler... You are also the "captain" of the team and are responsible for ALL decisions about where and how to fish... Prefishing is important for the boater since he needs to develop a plan for the day of the tournament... And, have life jackets, and the rest of the "stuff". The night before you will find out who your co-angler is going to be at the meeting where the pairings are "drawn" randomly.
Do you have a friend that is currently fishing the league events? If you do have him go over what he does and how he gets ready...

The usual fishing hours are 7am till 3 pm with usually 30 minutes between flights if there are more than 2 flights. Do your homework on the area, check the past winning strategies on the write ups on the FLW site. LISTEN to what Sonny says at the registration meeting when he goes over the rules, this is very important "READ THE RULES". Watch your fish, take care of them, give them fresh water often, the 8oz. loss per unreleaseable can fish really hurt. Above all have FUN, this is your first tournament, learn from it, and remember this could also be your partners first time too. GOOD LUCK TO YOU !
