View Full Version : ONIEDA LAKE IS ON
The N.E.W.C. is their next weekend. If the bite stays as good as it has been the last two weekends there will be a lot of FULL baskets at the scales.I'm guessing ,about 14LB or better to win it.

We fished the first tournament last year and will be there for both this year as well. Looking like moderate winds and 60-70% chance of Thunderstorms right now. Should be a fun time. Tom really puts on a first class event. I put up alot of flyers in various places advertising this for the past 3 months, hope there is a great turnout.

Larry Johnson was right on the money when he said the bite is on.
On Sunday reigning team of the year champions Larry Johnson and his partner Jason Lawrence showed the crowd just how good the bite was with a limit of fish weighing 12.97 lbs, and claiming the win at the second stop of the year for the N.E.W.C..
Pre fishing was tuff for a lot of the teams during the week with the lake patterns changing over, but the fish cooperated the day of the event with 80% of the teams weighing a limit of fish.
Toping the field of 120 teams were Larry Johnson and Jason Lawrence,
following closely behind was local charter captain Ted Dobbs and Jim Boicourt with 12.53 lbs.
Third place was claimed by Ken Monica and Butch Edwards with 12.05 lbs, fourth place team of Jerry Lougnot and Rick Paninski with 11.83 lbs, and rounding out the top five is the team of Creig and Harry Tesch wieghing 11.57 pounds.
Not only did the lake cooperate with giving up numbers of fish, but the size was very impressive as well. Big fish for the event was caught by Rick Paninski and his partner Jerry Lougnot weighing 4.11 pounds. They received a very special hand painted picture from Nationaly respected wildlife artist Tom Lenweaver valued at approximately $350.00.
Anglers are very excited with the fact we will be returning to Oneida Lake on August 5th.
Our next stop for the N.E.W.C. will be June 24th on the Kinzua Reservoir.
