not to pick the wound, but its terrible to know that us honest fisherman have to fish with people that do this. Having heard first hand about what did and did not happen at the lowrance oahe tournie. The only question I have is why not call a GFP officer to settle the dispute once and for all. Now look you have all kinds of accusations coming up from all sorts of concerned fisherman. I know there was some touring pros that fished that tournament and I don't think they weren't consulted for advice.. I am sure they would known to let the GFP settle it.

Do I think it happended... YES its to bad because they consistently finish well.. and know people are asking coincidence or just lucky. I know some dang good sticks that aren't always cashing checks....

I feel bad for them team that was on the bubble and didn't fish on Firday because they didn't make the cut.

much more to say, but this isn't the place.

You "heard" first hand or were a witness? Big difference there big fella. Are you saying what Corey Bohn said in the other thread isn't true?

Let me see...Corey uses his real name and posts here often enough to for us to know he's a stand up guy. You post anonymously and only stir the pot and try to trash a team's reputation. That's not going to happen here!

I might also point out that your IP address is the same as the original poster of the locked thread. Coinky-Dink? Hmmmmmm....

What corey said could be true, but I the GFP statement still stands.

and the line about accusing me of starting the original thread is way off!!!!!!! I haven't posted for a couple weeks. Perhaps anyone with wireless has the same IP..

My statements in the previous thread are 100% accurate. I was there and I fished the Lowrance at Oahe, and I personally had a conversation with one of the advisory committee anglers who viewed the fish in question. At the end of the Day 1 weigh-ins, Billy called over about 6 guys who fish the entire circuit and he showed them the fish in question, and I witnessed that. As the the individual on the advisory committee stated to me (and he fishes the circuit), the tail was not cut or frayed, it was simply an irregular (weird), but natural tail, and the fish was under 20-inches to begin with. The fish in question was not even close to 20-inches, it was a 19-19 1/2 inch fish, so the whole point is mute in regards to tail clipping. In addition to fishing tournaments, I also am the director for a tournament here in Minnesota, and I think Billy handled the situation well by allowing anglers who fish the circuit to be involved in the decision making process regarding the fish in question. If anglers who fish the circuit (who pay the big entry fees and make the investment in gas, lodging and food) are happy and comfortable with it being an legitimate fish-----then everyone should be-----including you! Believe me, if the adivisory committee anglers thought in any way or form that that fish had been tampered with, it never would have been allowed. Just to show you how rampant the rumors are on Oahe, there was a big uproar on Day 1 that everyone felt the one team in question was late back to the check-ins at 4:30. The one boat showed up at 4:32 and the accusations were flying by the time we got loaded up.....fact of the matter is.......they were 28 minutes early as they weren't due back until 5 p.m. Following the Wolves tourney the weekend before at the coffe shop on Monday people were leveling accusations left and right, when one of the guys in the nearby booth spoke up and said that he was right behind them at Bawdle Beach when they pulled their 2 big fish. He was pulling lead core just like they were and he saw both rods load up and they pulled in a couple of 25-inchers. The individual who made the statement said he was not a friend or foe, and that he took 6th in Wolves tourney, and he witnessed their big catches. Everyone is the coffee shop looked like they had just eaten a feathered bird and the topic quickly changed. Fact of the matter is, in speaking with other anglers on the circuit, and those from the Mobridge area, the anglers in question are tremendous fishermen. They know every boulder, nook and cranny on Oahe, and they know how the fish react when a big cold front comes roaring in, and what to do when the wind blows 30-40 mph. How many of you guys can successfully pull leadcore over the sunken tree tops in 60-70 feet of water to catch fish that are suspended 20 to 35 feet down without loosing everyone crankbait in your tackle box? In addition to knowing Oahe inside out, these guys also have a very formidable networking system involving a great many anglers. They know where the fish are and they know how to catch them, regardless of the conditions. When you have that kind of ability and channels for information, you will tend to dominate. Granted, they have won a great many tournaments and consistently place high, but until someone catches them red-handed regarding your accusations, you best spend your time honing your skills and work hard at replicating their techniques. They are without a doubt thee best team on Oahe at pulling leadcore, and when you refine the technique to the point that they have, you will time again do well in a tournament, because ultimately, you are covering more water and placing your lure in front of more quality fish. Personally, I don't know these guys, but we heard the accusations before we even left Minnesota to go out to Oahe, and after speaking with a great many people and after witnessing the situation at the weigh-in-----I am 100% comfortable and confident that there was no cheating involved, and with that said, you should feel comfortable that it was legit as well. Typically, I wouldn't waste my time with a long response like this, but I strongly feel that the only thing worse than being the victim of a crime, is being falsely accused of one. This is my last response to this topic. Tightlines.
