Doe's any one have a link to see the ntc rules and what you need to have with you in the boat. The packet a friend had recevied wasn't much help. Also is their any place to stop and get gas if you want to make a long haul north on the water? Thanks for the help. Good luck to all.

Do you need a anchor in the boat for Green Bay like you do at Erie?

YES, you need a 100 ft rope on it as well.

It's not in the rules, I read them again after reading this. Nothing in the rules about marine radio's, anchors, ect. Hope they dont make up the rules as they go.

They may not be in the NTC rules, but Green Bay, and the Fox River are part of the Great Lakes and have additional safety rules above and beyond the standard Wisconsin boating rules. The Wisconsin DNR web site should have all the details.

Enjoy your time in Green Bay, it's a winderful fishery.

I also would like to know about in the cabelas rules is that it states 2 lines per person and 3 hooks per line and a lure that has gang hooks is considered one hook. If I understand it right ,it says you can have 3 baits per line. I thought WI. is 2 lines 3 baits total. Is this a over ride of dnr rules or are things different on the great lakes as they are inland.

I am going out on a limb and saying Cabela's is wrong.
In WI it is illegal to fish with more than three hooks, baits or lures per person. A crankbait with three hooks is considered one.

Typically if the tournament limits you to two line then one of those lines could possibly hold a second hook bait or lure.

Please don't use the work cheat or any form of the word.
The way I interpret the Cabela's rule as written, "two lines per person and three hooks per line" allows the angler to have twice the legal limit of hooks, baits or lures. Is this actually true? Probably not and definitely not legal.

Perhaps Cabela's should re-think the wording on this particular rule.

Cabelas isn't advocating that the anglers in the NTC break state laws. They are saying you can use no more than two lines per angler AND no more than three baits per angler.

Personally, I wish they would use the Wisconsin rules as a guideline and be done with it, but its their event, and I'm happy to play by their rules.

I don't know for sure looks no cheater lines.

Rule #2 under tackle:
Contestants will be allowed to fish two lines each, three hooks per line. Artificial bait is considered to be one hook regardless of the number of gang hooks attached.

Wish someone from Cabela's would clear this up.

The fine line becomes difficult to decipher when you ask the question if a crawler harness is an artifical lure or not. If the answer is yes, you can use a cheater line.

I have no dog in this fight but I know that when we did the FLW Tour there we had the same rules and we could use a cheater.

I'm leaning your way now Dennis in the wording. It should say no more than 2 lines per fisherman and no more than 3 hooks per fisherman vs per line.

1 harness with 3 hooks is considered (1 lure)

otherwise you could only fish one harness..

which means two way setups are legal!
