View Full Version : found gears and propj in Illinois River
I found a Merc high five prop still attatched to the gears and bearings from a lower unit next to a sheet piling abuttment. Did any of the tourney guys lose a lower unit at Spring Valley this year? If you did, I've got your prop. It has a two dings in the prop. It could be repaired at a prop shop. Let me know.

Keep the prop. They would just wreck it again if you returned it to them. Anybody that wrecked a prop there doesn't deserve to get it back. Sell it on EBAY.

T-Mac Yes he did, so the returned prop will be going back to the customer. Thats $400 less than he thought he would have to pay when replacing everything. Jcn you are definetly a stand up individual. I was down at Riverview when I told them about your post so Jay asked me to reply. He couldnt believe it and after he called that customer they couldnt believe it either.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I found it. There sitting next to some sheet piling was the gears, drive shaft, High Five Prop and the exhaust hub, all still attached sitting there on the concrete. I was hoping that nobody got hurt. Whoever it was, was very lucky they didn't destroy the whole boat. They were real close. Glad to return it to them.

Wow! What a wonderful thing you did Jeff! This goes to prove that there are still great people in this world. Your family and friends should be proud of you. I don't even know you and I am!:rock-on:
