Mille Lacs Day 3 article lists Gary P. as the "Regional series" points leader with Pat Neu and Gofron behind him. Does this mean that they are only fishing the 4 regional events? I would have assumed they were doing all 6 events. I thought those who only fished the 4 regional events were the "Regional series" contenders and those that were also invited to fish and did fish the 2 "Super Pro" series events became the AOY contenders. Maybe I don't follow how this works, I know format changes took place from last year. Or is it set up this years so that the Super Pro's who fish the regionals can contend for the Regional honors AND the AOY honors but the Regional fishermen are only playing for regional honors. Any one know how this is set up this year.. Thanks, RJ

Super Pro's compete for AOY title.

Super Pro's compete to qualify for the Championship in the 2 Super Pro Events.

Super Pro's can also qualify for the Championship by fishing the 4 regionals. However, if they qualify in the Super Pro standings, they will not take a qualifying position away from the Regional standings qualifyer.

So the Regional standings, will be the standings for the 4 regional events, regardless if the Angler is a Super Pro.

So this year they can win the "Tommy Docks" top regional angler award(or whoever the sponsor is this season) even if they are an AOY/Super Pro competitor? I had it in mind that last year the Regional events "only" anglers were the only people elegible to win the top Regional angler award. Maybe what your saying Burr is that the AOY guys can contend for or even lead (as in Gary's case)the Regional points race for Champ. qualifying purposes but at the end of the year won't be elegible to be crowned with any Regional only awards? Sorry to drag this out so long....Thanks for guiding me to the light...RJ
