Starts tomorrow, who are the favorites. Word is that it has been a tougher bite but has been improving day by day. In no particular order, my top 5:
1. Scott Larson
2. Hans Halvorson
3. Dustin Kjelden
4. Pete Harsh
5. Shannon Kehl

Butt kissers, hohohoho harsh this time.
I get to go up there on Thursday for a corporate fishing tournament and have been talking with some of the people that I work with that have been up there all this week and they have had great fishing and a lot of big fish. But there is supposed to be a cold front moving in that may hit Devils Lake and if it does it will bring in wind and rain, so my pick(s) are.
Pete Harsh (that old bear can sit on fish better than any body that I have ever heard of)

I feel Brian Bjorkman will be in the top ten for sure and even in the top 5 or the winner. He will do well on Devils Lake.....He almost won the PWT last year

I am curious, why so many picks for Mr. Harsh this time? Don't get me wrong, he is a great fisherman and I wish him the best (butt kissing intended) but you guys aren't picking your usual suspects.

Since we're gonna get blamed for being homers, even when we're not being homers, I'm gonna be a homer.
Scott Larson and Brian Bjorkman. Scott's the logical pick, Brian's the sentimental pick.
Pretty good sticks to be homers with. I don't know Scott that well, he spends all his time winning tournaments on Devils Lake so he's not around to get to know.
The Bjorkman's are all very good fisherman, and just good people. Brian's Brother and Dad took 3rd last week in our FMWU tournament, with a really great comeback. After a less than stellar first day bag, Eric and Ken brought the biggest bag of the tourney in to jump from 71st to 3rd!
I hear Brian gave them a pep talk Friday night.

How about Russ Mcdonald and his gang. Russ has done well there in the past and Rod Putnam made the top ten last year. Sounds like they better get a big bag today weather sounds tough for tomorrow.

I think their will be battle between three of them for first. My picks are Troy Sand(no-name winner from last year), Pete Harsh , Jerry Hein. Troy is a brotherinlaw to a friend of mine so I give him the win. It should be a good one.

Walleye fishing was par on the bay today, all cookie cutters:(
Big storm comming in tonight. 2"-3" of rain,thunder and lightning, NW wind 30 MPH with possable straight line winds up to 60 MPH and large hail and tornado warnings are already out around Bismarck. I would be suprised if they go out on Thursday (If the storm is as bad as they have predicted). At the very least it is going to mess up somebody's fishing.

Would like to see Larry Smith win it. More of a river fisherman,don't know how he fished Wedn., but I'd enjoy his victory. Slip bobbering in skinny water in the trees? I've seen em there in winter sightfishing. What a rush.
