View Full Version : FLW rules
In yesterdays press release for Devils it stated that the leader found his fish as everybody else was headed to the pre-tournament registration. Since it does not start until 2 that would mean he was still fishing. According to the FLW rules he must be off the water by noon. Does anybody know what time he was off the water? if after 12 shouldn't he be DQ'd?
There will be no official practice period or off-limits period prior to the pretournament meeting. However, no contestant may be on tournament waters for the purpose of locating fish or potential fishing waters after 12 p.m. (noon) on the Tuesday (Wednesday of Championship) of registration and pretournament meeting except during tournament hours. The purchasing of information or the hiring of services will not be permitted after the balance deadline date for each tournament (September 9, 2007, for the FLW Walleye Tour Championship).

He found these fish yesterday while most competitors were off the water and headed towards the rules meeting.
It actually should have been better than what it was though,” said Erhard, who had a great practice and found this monster-producing, honey hole about a half an hour before the off-limits time went into effect on Tuesday.
I know Ron and if he said he was off the water a half hour before the off-limits time that means he was off at 11:30.
Some of you guys need to go fishing instead of reading bull$hit into some of these tourneys.
You better learn how to read. There is NOTHING in the artical as to the time he was off or getting them 1/2 hr before the end of practice. READ BELOW taken from the evening story.
The veteran western pro was surprisingly open about his location – Pelican Bay. When the day started, he used both leeches and night crawlers under his slip corks, but he quickly changed to all leeches when they were out producing the crawlers. He’s working those leeches about 18 inches off the bottom in 6 feet of water. He found these fish yesterday while most competitors were off the water and headed towards the rules meeting.
BTW I do fish the FLW walleye tour and league. I just couldn't make this one due to vacation issues.

here is the link to the press release he is talking about. It says in plain english it was 1/2 hr before the time limit.
not that hard to understand
“Today was a great day. It actually should have been better than what it was though,” said Erhard, who had a great practice and found this monster-producing, honey hole about a half an hour before the off-limits time went into effect on Tuesday. “I actually lost a few key fish that held my weigh back some. I think I am around enough fish to at least keep me around the top-10."

The FLW website artical has nothing to do about 1/2 hr. The WC artical does. We have been talking about two seperate articals.

I just talked to Ron. He was off the water at 11:30. Now get over it!
I am over it. The artical that was on the FLW site made it sound like he was on the water at 2. I just wanted a clearification on the rules. This is what happens when there are 2 diffent stories put out by the same organization on two different web sites.

Not really ... I think some people just try to read something into an article that isn't there.

"while most competitors were off the water and headed towards the rules meeting"
Means just that. "That most were off the water," doesn't mean that everyone practiced till the deadline and he was on the water longer. I bet over half the field was off the water before 10:00 and I know alot of guy's didn't even go out!

As far as I can see dpd just asked a simple question and not asccsuing anybody of anything. the info he had at the time was not accurate and he wanted to know what the deal was.

I can solve this mystery, since I was fishing the same part of the lake as Ron on Tuesday, and was first in line at the little dirt launch that we all put in that morning. Larry and I pulled out at around 11:30, and I waved to Ron as we pulled away, as he was approaching the ramp to load.
You are correct, Ron is a good man, and a good fisherman. I had the good luck to fish with him on day two in Red Wing, and I enjoyed spending the time with him, and helping him put fish in the boat.
This is just a confusing sentence that was trying to say that Ron, who is a roofing contractor and an extremely hard worker, was working right up to the closing bell, instead of opting not to fish on the half day, as some of the pros chose to do. (Especially when there is a casino at the meeting hall...LOL)

I was not accusing anybody of cheeting. The evening story that I read on the FLW site did not say anything about him being off the water at 11:30. The way they made it sound was that he was still fishing at 2:00. There are three different articals that was written by the FLW. 1 one this site and 2 on the FLW site. 2 of them clearly states that he was off the water at 11:30. I mainly just wanted a clearifition of the rule as the League rules has it the same way that you must bee off the water by noon but that is not the case.
We can now close this thread and move on.
Sorry Ron if you have been reading this.

All over the net it seems a temporary epidemic attack of poor reading comprehension is taking place. I am as guilty of this as anyone.
