I see that Storm has changed the lip on Hot-N-Tots from metal to Polycarbonate. Before I load up on 'em, can anybody tell me if they run to approx. the same depth as the metal lip ? Thanks

Just MY feelings but to me they do not run at all like the old ones. They shouldn't even call them Hot n tot. They do have some nice colors but they can keep them. Why they ever changed Storms perfect tot I can't figure that out.

They run different , try a few , as I think they are still (fishcatchers).
We are still experimenting with leaders and terminal connections , but we are having depth running issues .
We will not be stocking up until we figure it out .

Is nothing sacred? First they change the Thundersticks, now the Hot n tots. Whats next, colored night crawlers and minnows? Why can't people just leave things alone?

The problem is rapala bought out storm. Storm made, keyword there MADE good lures prior to this. Go out and try to pick up all of the metal billed ones u can. U cant beat these lures for walleyes. Dicks in my area still has alot of the older styles (metal bills) so look around and pick up a variety.

I understand Bass Pro bought up a bunch of the old 'tots and will be selling them this spring. They did this with the old thundersticks last summer. At $1.99 each, I stocked up!!!

By the by, do any of you Bass Pro guys know when the hot-n-tots will go on sale at the Gurnee Illinois store?

Woodsdweller, there should be a great big bin in every BPS store full of old Tots and Warts right now. They're priced at 2.99 each. They'll go down to 1.99 for the big Spring Classic sale (March 16-24 in Chicago and Detroit, March 9-17 in Cincy), but then you'll have to fight the crowds. Selection-wise, now till early March is the time. There are some nice colors in there, all sizes, including Rattle Tots--whatever was left in Storm's closeout inventory. The bins get replenished pretty frequently. Hope you find what you need--good luck!

The box says that they will dive to seven feet. I tried them last summer and in my opinion they are JUNK. The cheap plastic lio breaks easily and the action is poor in comparison to the original. Now they are even advertising that the fisherman demanded that they make these "improvements". Try calling Normark to express your feelings and you wont even get to talk to a human. The old Rapala was a good lure untill they improved it with the cheap plastic lip that breaks off. Do they care about us or just the good old dollar. Larry

Mike, thanks for the info on BPS. I'll shoot right over and check the selection.

If any of you find the old style H05-109 (Hot n Tot) gold body with flourescent orange back, I'll pay you a premium for sending them to me. I want up to 50 of them. Email me and I'll send you prepayment or we can work something out.

Someone earlier had a post about jig/plastic colors and many stated color doesn't make a difference, well I want 50 of this color for a reason~ The walleyes in this area can't resist em'

Thanks
Travis

Sorry to give you bad info. One of the board guys called the Bass Pro store in Gurnee (Chicago), and they were sold out of Tots for now. Looks like they took the whole load to the Boat Show and moved 'em in a hurry. There will be more Tots and Warts coming into the Gurnee store. The other stores should still have a good supply at the moment.
