Just wondering, is there any reasonable sized tournaments out there that you can fish with a buddy, instead of the Pro/am thing?

I'd just like to grab a buddy and go off and fish a tourney or two in the future and just enjoy the caraderie and fun of getting together with a bunch of other people who fish.
Add the possibility of winning something (un huh sure Al) and it sounds like fun.

Also the entry fee's for the FLW and PWT are a bit steep for someone who's given up the thought of ever being a pro, been there done it, nope, ain't good enough, and don't have the time anymore to try.

I had posted this question before, but then I was thinking of doing the ProAm thing, but I don't thinks trying to stay out of the pros way and fishing is for me...:)

TIA

Al

Al, I don't know where you're located but you should check out the MWC for next year. Fairly reasonable entry fee ($700/team) and it is an outstanding circuit. The people that run it are great and do a fantastic job. The people that fish it are great and very tough competition.

Live in Minn, sorry forgot to mention it.

Pleanty to keep me busy, thanks all.
I used to fish tourney's many years ago and had a good time...looking forward to trying it again, with a bit less enthusiasm this time, and a bit more social interaction. :)

Now just to go find another old fart that wants to go fish...:)

Allen,

If my alzhiemers doesnt kick in next time I go thru I will check

Most of my money is spent on fishing, fishing tackle and boats, the rest is wasted:exactly:. moreyes <'{{^}}< :cheers:http://www.walleyecentral.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=106750

Thanks Moreyes, looking more for partner style events mostly, the lower the entry fee the better also.:)
I don't mind getting fairly serious about tourney's, but years back I got so winged out the wife wouldn't even fish with me, ended up giving up fishing for a long time.
I'm trying to keep it enjoyable now.

Just like to get out and meet people and have fun, like the Winnie gathering, really looking forward to meeting some of the Walleye Central bunch.

Once again, thanks all.

I have been fishing the Minnesota Tournament Trail for several years. There isn't a better run, better orginized circuit around. Great people running it, and great competition. If your looking to get back to competitive fishing without breaking the bank or hiring a divorce lawyer - I would give them a call.

I fished a few WAT touneys and had a blast!!!! Even though the fish didnt cooperate with me I still had fun and met some awesome fishermen!!! I would reccomend this circuit to anyone who wants to fish smaller less exspensive tournaments.

Allen went thru Madison Lake today, stopped by Reel Tackle bait shop and picked up a brochure, it is sponsored by the Southern Mn Walleye ####.

They have tournements during the evening, if you are interested they have one more event on Lake Tetonka.

Always interested, barring prior commitments/work schedule, been asking around for another partner and seems most are busy or not interested, gotta find a younger crowd...:)

They have any info online?
Maybe I can find someone between now and then.

Tree falling on wife's car, my truck, the house and new boat has slowed the fishing down a bit, but almost recovered, Boat ok and Truck has minor damage, wife's car totaled and house needs new siding and roof, so its been a bit hectic lately.

Hoping to get out soon though....:)
