View Full Version : Thanks Hawgfesters!
Just wanted to say thanks to the OGF Crew, the WBSA Crew, the anglers, and to the city of Vermillion for a great time yesterday. And, a special thanks goes out to EYECRAZY, who was our team Capt. for the day. Rick and I had a blast fishing with you this weekend, and welcome you to fish with us anytime! ;)
The Hawgfest food was MMmmmmm Mmmmmmm Good! Even though I could have done without seeing the roasted piggy's little face, while they carved up his little body, but hey...it is what it is, and that little sacrificed pig fed A LOT of people. Thanks little piggy! LOL
Look'n forward to next year's event already! ;)

Interesting about that 13th place...seems to be something Jimmy and Mike Townsend are stuck on, considering that they were also 13th at last years Hawgfest. By getting the opportunity to come along with Juls and Bigfoot, Steve was able to shake it off and move up considerably. Juls: you didn't know you and Rick were getting yourselves a ringer did you? Shshhhh...I won't tell him it was actually the other way around (wink!) I was simply happy to get an invitation to go along with a couple guys and attend this event for the first time. Even if Dale, Glenn, and I didn't do so well, it was terrific seeing some of my friends from Michiana Walleye Association and Indianawalleye.com achieving high success. It is just about worth it to sign up for this tournament simply for the food and friendship. The WBSA folks really know how to throw a good bash.

I stand corrected. (Oops!) Jimmy and Mike, with Eyecrazy Steve, were 14th last year, not 13th. So, Jimmy and Mike moved up a place and that's good. But, for sure, Jimmy, it is all about going over there and having a great time. You saw that I admitted that we didn't do so great (took a zero) but that's ok too. Don't think that I didn't pay attention to what the top ten were doing to catch their fish. In my own hindsight, I think the great majority of the fishermen were pulling their presentations way over the tops of the fish and they just were not coming up much to hit anything. I found out way too late in the day that a 3 ounce bouncer needed 140' of line out to stay near the bottom. There was no over-ruling pattern that I could see. The fish would hit Reef Runners, spoons, or spinners/crawlers if you could keep them down in the faces of the fish.
