There are a lot of people on here that say it doesn't matter if you give your hot spot away because you still have to catch the fish.
To all those people who know some hot spots and feel this way... Would you mind sharing your favorite June spots on Oahe for us poor folks who have never fished there? If some of you are a little hesitant, feel free to send a private e-mail.
Have a good one.

Texeye, send me an email at jimenez@montana.com and I'll try to shed a bit of light on what I know. Haven't spent too much time there myself but did learn some when I was there and have some decent info regarding the system. I will be out there for the NTC as well but might be able to get you started. RJ in Montana

That time of year you will be able to find fish every where. Use your electronics find brakes and fish them. Plugs or spinners which ever you want to use. Or just look for the 100 boats in one area and go there.

I fish on Oahe a lot but will not be fishing the NTC so if you would like some info for that time of year here it goes. You will definitely want to run gold and silver spinners with a 1-2 ounze bottomer bouncer from 14-28feet of water on the points. I would not go much past the mauroe river that time of the year, The mauroe river is an excellent area to fish but beware of the trees just under the surface. May even want to run some plugs along the shore there. If it was myself going I would be drifting or trolling about .5 -.9 MPH with creek chubs and a single red or blue bead on flouracarbon leaders about ten foot long with a slip bottom bouncer rig. I also would try leaches with the same rig as used for creek chubs (different hooks though). If going to try night crawlers rig them with the true point hooks(slow death and slow troll them works very well on that system that time of the year). There is some humps just south of mobridge that will produce some nice sized slot fishes so they are worth prefishing that time of the year. There is also some submerged trees about 30-40 miles south of mobridge that guys like to pull plugs over that may produce some bigger fish but be ready to lose quite a few. If pulling plugs is your thing stick to the reef runners and husky jerks or the larger salamo or shad raps and use lead core line for better death control. Hope this helps a little and good luck.
dvs620 Thanks for being open with the info.I have a question for you. What should we be expecting for water levels.I just had the 2 maps shipped--Lots of water to cover, how close will the hotspots maps be.THANKS LARRY JOHNSON.

I started this thread doubting much would come of it. Much to my surprise quite a few people have responded here and privately. I want to thank everyone who gave a little advice. I received what I thought was some pretty good information.
I don't expect the details but often just helping with colors, techniques, and general areas are a big help on new waters.
Thanks again to all, and thanks to Scott for a great sight. Maybe I can return the favor sometime. Hope to meet some of you down the road.
Have a good one.

The prediction is the water level will hold steady to the 2007 year which was 35-40feet below normal. They are predicting a rise of about 11 feet in the spring from the snow melt up stream but most of that water will head south through the dam. In response to best colors to use on the river gold and silver for spiners with red, green or blue beads. Plugs run mainly the natural colors black and silver, blue and purple glass and brown glass in shad raps and reef runners, also I have had good luck with a dull perch color in the larger walley divers. Good luck to all.

Dutch, I hear Chamberlain is supposed to be 60 degrees this Saturday. Wish I was closer.
Dutchman, I could not agree more about Jigs for eyes!

Scott.
It was a great day, lots of boat, waters open to Chamberlain, good fishing, but not hot.

Jeff, we'll be back in Iowa in early April. Don't catch them all.
