Bought a few of these this week. They are new down here(NE Ohio). Just wondering any tips to fishing them? Piece of minnow, just twitch, any tricks? Every Ice fishing book I have picked up and there was a picture of a decent walleye it had one of these hanging out of his mouth.

I used them quite a bit last year and found that anything extra on the hooks really affected the action of the lure. What seems to make them really work is their slow side to side wobble as they fall on a semi-slack line. A couple drops of your favorite attractant once in awhile should be a good substitute for bait.

If you haven't tried this give it a shot. Remove the bottom trebel and tie a 4 inch mono dropper to that trebel. Take a minnow head and hook it on. This works like a charm on perch and fussy eyes.

I think the way to work a Darter is to work it as subtlely as possible. In a boat just hold it still with a slow rise. Same under the ice with just a touch of quiver.
They are working very well right now. As mentioned in the previous post, a mono dropper in lieu of front trebles can be effective for perch.

I like using a Chubby Darter on a rod that will be in a rod holder. Alot of times, the bouncing around that I do in the Trap is enough to keep the darter doing it's thing.

I caught an eye on the ice outing on Mille Lacs last year on a darter and watched it on the camera it was a great lesson and a nice 19" fish.
I have an asortment of colors and switch between jiggin raps and darters for the rod I am jigging.
The darters are a much slower presentation and a good action when they fall.

A while back I found a web site that had the salmo darters for sale. They came in packs of 5 or 6. I can't find it again and was wondering if anyone else remembers what the site was? It came off one of the posts on the board. i would like to arder some so if anyone can help...thanks.
That site was http://www.efishingnetwork.com/store and they pulled the darters from the store after they complately sold them out. My understanding is they'll be getting more available soon. They go fast, really fast, so when you see them, grab them. If I see that they got some more in and I remember, I'll post it or get ahold of you somehow.
