Is there a major difference in quality and performance between the minn kota maxxum and the endura transom mount trolling motors? One has a three year warranty and an entending tilt handle the other just a two year warranty. Any advise would be appreciated.

Wallrous- The Maxxum`s run up to five time longer ( and cooler) than the other model. Built alot stronger also. Have had two, one 12v, the other 24v great units! Good luck- Bob WC#253.

Thank you for the information it's most appreciated. I'd rather pay a little more now and get the better motor.

Hey guys, where did you pick up your motors and what did you pay for them? Any comments on 12V vs 24V? I also fish the river quite a bit and want to be sure I get one that will handle the current and not kill the batteries too fast.

I got my maxxum at Reid's. I paid $685 and got a free set of Frog Tog raingear with it. So far, so good. What I like about it the most is that it has the toughest bracket out there. No motor drive means no breaking of the motor drive. I had a Pinpoint before and was afraid everytime I put it in the water that it was going to break.
