: Niagara River walleye trolling ???
would it be a good choice to try trolling for fall walleye in a river
I usually troll lake erie in the spring and summer
but what about trolling in the river during fall and winter ?
do you guys think it would be productive and what would you use as far as lures ?
depth would probably be around 25 to 40 feet, I assume or would the walleye be in deeper parts during the cold weather ?

you proably didn't get an answer because most of these guys fish west of here. Try http://www.niagarariverguides.com/sys-tmpl/door/ This is John Delorenzo. Or Try a search for Bob Cinelli. Both fish this river all the time, They'll tell you.
(Walleye) You won't get past the steelhead and lake trout.

Rebs,
Im from NEohio and plan on comeing up Niagara this weekend also,is the river clear enough to fish???Looks like we may be haveing some decent weather and if the river is dirty now,im hopeig iit will be ok by the weekend. When i was there in sept.salmon fishing there was a guy trolling between the coastguard station and the ramp just north of it.He said he caught 2 walleyes one was like 6 and one 7 lbs i believe. If i make the trip im fishin for steelhead.Take care and maybe i'll see ya on the river,i have a white 17' MonArk with a 115 Yami on it.tightLines,Kdog(KeithWalters)
Jim Tunney 12-09-2002, 05:40 PM I was out last, the day I met you. It has been windy. I missed my chance on Thanksgiving. I going to try again Sat. and Sun.
I fish Walleye spring, Summer and Fall on Erie. Then I move to the lower river for Salmon, Steelhead, and Lakers in the late fall and all winter.
It's easy pickin's. I can take any kids in the neighhood and I look like a hero.
I have the fizzing needle I promised you, so I'll watch out for you.

What are the conditions and are the fish biting? More importantly, know anyone that will be fishing then with an open spot?
Thanks guys,
Hi Jim
