Already getting anxious for spring, bad sign. I fish walleyes 60-80 days a year and have never used any line but mono. As I look to next spring and respooling about 20 reels should I make the switch to spiderwire, or power pro, or any other brand of super line? The following might help answer this question.

I Lindy Rig about 60% of the time.
I Slip-Bobber fish about 20%
I Jig about 10%
I Troll Cranks, (Usually at night) 10% of the time.

Do most of you use a mono leader off your braided line for lindy rigging, bobbering, jigging, or even trolling?
I am looking for some advice. I am not really worried about spending some cash to make the change. I just am unfamiliar with the pros and cons of using superline. What happens when you get snagged? Do you have to cut your line at the boat? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I spooled up with power pro last year. I did not use any mono leader for jigging or bottom bouncing. I did use a wire leader when trolling because of the many northerns that also were caught.

I will not go back to mono. I user a three to six foot mono leader for jigging, and blading. The rest I just tie directly.

bbakes- I use 8lb. Fireline (flamegreen) rigging. Extra sensitive and no stretch. These rods also double as My jigging outfits. Always use a sm. swivel riggin or jiggin and use a XL leader. Trolling 10lb. XT- solar on the linecounters with a couple Abus with 14lb. Fireline for flatline trolling. Hope this helps. Good luck- Bob WC#253.
