RICKK

I just got a pair of these. (the fit over your shoe/boot to stop you from slipping on ice/snow.) We just had an ice storm here and walking has been really bad . Salt and sand on most walks is washing away with this freezing rain. So I went to an outdoor outfitters place and got these and I really like them. I think they would be good ice fishing. You can walk normally instead of the Frankinstein's guy walk that you do with those cheap creepers. These are really easy to get on an off too. I "think" they are durable but since I only have about 5 miles on them (walking the dog) I can't be sure. I can't say you couldn't slip on these,..perhaps really hard smooth ice on an incline and I imagine you could slip, but I walked up some very icy hills without much of a problem (woulda been close to impossible without them) I like the fact they have traction on your heel as well as the ball of the foot. Their competitors,..the ones with the carbide spikes, might bite harder into the ice but walking without something in the heel biting in probably doesn't work as well on uneven surfaces (?) I haven't seen a brand that has those spikes in the heel. Anyway they cost about 25 bucks at this place,..more than the creepers but how much does a nasty fall cost? Gotta remember to take them off before you walk across your wood or whatever floor......
