Does anyone know if the quick strike rigs are legal for use in Ontario? Are these rigs illegal in some states? If so, which?

I've looked at the titainium leaders-boy are they pricey. Do you use them anyplace you would an ordinary leader. Does anyone use them with jigs or while still fishing or with a float? Why should I spend the extra money on such a leader? Any brand better than another?
