Saw some at a local sporting goods store for 39.99 each the other day on sale. Are they worth it? The only place I have found a price is on Bass Pro.com. What is normal retail for these reels?

I bought some at that price a few years ago

the problem is the drags don't work well

other than that the reels work fine

i will never buy okumas again

in my opinion they at $40 are not as good of value as diawas at $90

I have an even half dozen Okuma reels and have never had a single problem with them. Sounds like a good price to me.

I have two of there spinning reels about $40 and are a lot better then some I have at over $100.
I have not tried there line counters as I'm waiting for a small left hand version. Hopefully they be 1/2 as good as there spining reels are.

I agree with Rodbuilder, I returned 8 over past 1 1/2 years(drag problems), don't own one of them any longer- all Diawa 27's and not a lick of problems.

Are the new Cabelas DepthMasters produced by Okuma? They look the same.

I don't know about that particular model of Okuma reel, but I do have some Okuma Magna Pro 30DX's. Best line counters I ever owned. I'd payed $70.00 each for mine. When it comes to reels, you ussually get what you pay for.

The drags are cheezy.
I'll sell you the two I have for $20 each, Brad...hardly used
