I imagine that this is the same thing that you all are looking at with the reel also. It appeared that you could purchase just the line counter addition for the abu 5500 and 6500 series reels. Basically it looked like you removed the side plate of the reel, put this pice in, reattached the side plate and away you go. It was 49.99 for the counter alone. Being an old musky hack I ahve about 4 6500s sitting around that don't get used anymore, I was thinking of trying to convert one of these. 50 bucks isn't too bad for a now decent quality linecounter. I've been a real advocate for the garcia digitals until today when I put my hands on the new Accudepths by diawa. They were 49.99. why buy an add-on when you can have two reels for the same price? Now if I knew that those accudepths were of the same caliber internally I'd right the check. | |
