I was wondering if anyone uses or has used a Color C Lector while walleye fishing. Do they work? Are their color selections accurate for walleye? Is it worth picking one of these up? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

You will get a lot of guys that laugh at them and I can't tell you that it works (I'm guessing not) BUT I think the guy who tried to develope it had a good idea but its probably more complex than a light meter (which it is) and his color chart. I noticed while diving because of sun angle and the amt of light that bait fish can be VERY,VERY hard to see,.(and its my hobby to try).they are certainly there but almost invisible,..other times they stand rt out,..certain baitfish or juvenile other fishes, can be seen and others cannot at the same time,...then an hour or two later you might see different ones,..perhaps this is a way of taking pressure off some species as they are not visable ALL of the day(?) Idunno,..but I think he was onto something and I think it may be why certain baits turn on or off during the day. I don't know how much effort and study was done on his color chart but he knew quite well about this "invisability" factor,..I think he only could do light intensity with his gizmo. Not sure just that (and not angle of sun) works,..

I admit, I bought one when they first came out. It is in the top 5 list of useless things I bought.

I bought one last summer for a $1.00. I have to admit that I tried it a Rainy Lake last fall on a day with the bite was slow. The bite was still slow after I changed to red. Looks nice on the shelf with my other useless equipment.

I also bought one many years ago and figured I would use it on a boat when I bought one. Have a boat but can"t find the color c-lector for about 10 years. I don't think it works either. JJ

I have a Combo-Selector and have had it for a long time. Would like to check it's calibration. Any one out there can help?

I was talked out of that and the PH monitor by a local pro many years ago, thankfully.
