: What Happened to Pearl Shad Raps??

As some of you may know, I'm beginning my ascension (descension?) into fishing cranks. Alot of you offered some helpful tips just before Christmas.

Over lunch today, I was looking at some Shad Raps and Reef Runners. (Where I live, Reef Runners are very hard to come by in any decent selection). Anyway, I came across these Pearl White Rapala Shad Raps that looked pretty cool, but on my return to work and the internet, I cannot find this color listed anywhere. Is this a new color, or a discontinued one? If discontinued, is it because they did not work?

Also, what is the best place online to buy Ripsticks and Deep Little Rippers? I cannot find many of these around home.

Thanks.

derrek.

Derek.
I'm thinking the latter might be the case. The Pearl/Chartruese Back Shad Rap, as well as the many sizes of floating/sinking Rapala's were pretty hot lures for a long time. I do believe they started making the Rapalas again last year. (Not really sure on that one). I think they discontinued the Shad Rap in that color though.

I'm sure some Shad Rap junkie will chime in on this one for sure.

Pearl Shad Raps are a Canadian color and a very productive one! Al at http://www.reelbait.com has the best selection of reef runners on the net.
Take care, Rich

Thanks Ed, I just checked out your website, and hope to put together a "wish list" in the next few days. My preference would be to use a WC sponsor, I'm glad you mentioned that.

I live near Saskatoon, SK. There are a couple of stores that stock some deep divers in very limited colors, and some cicadas, but that's about it. Since you're a wholesaler as well, let me know if you'd like the contact particulars for these places, I'd be happy to provide them. They make a mistake by not carrying these things.

Thanks again for the info.

I'm a big fan of the pearl Shad Raps, and I have been told the same story about them being available in Canada only. I know Reed's in Walker, MN use to stock them, and have ran into a few at other tackle shops, but one thing stays constant, they are always more expensive than the "normal" colors.
